Learn About NRH Public Safety Operations

Want to learn more about North Richland Hills Public Safety operations? Sign up for the Citizens Police Academy (CPA) or the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

CPA participants will learn about police patrol procedures, dispatch operations, SWAT and crime scene search, as well as many other law enforcement subjects. The next academy will take place on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, starting Aug. 8 and continuing through Nov. 7. There is no cost to participate. CERT participants will learn about emergency preparedness and ways to help if disaster strikes. The 8-week training will take place on Tuesday evenings, 6 - 9 p.m., from Aug. 20 through Oct. 8. 🐶 Low Cost Pet Vaccination Clinic

Is your pet current on its rabies shot and other vaccinations? A Low Cost Pet Vaccination Clinic is taking place on Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the NRH Animal Adoption & Rescue Center, 7301 Iron Horse Blvd. in partnership with the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection.

😎 Copsicles

Officers from the NRH Police Department will be at the NRH Library on Wednesday, July 17, 24, and 31 to hand out free popsicles and visit with the community! Stop by to chill with them between 10 and 11:30 a.m.!

💦 DIY Sprinkler Repair

If you haven’t checked out your sprinkler system lately, there might be some issues that are easily fixed. Join our free workshop from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 to learn all about the basics of a home sprinkler system and how to fix the most common issues on your own. This free event will take place at City Hall. Advance registration is required.

🍿 Play Tonight NRH & Family Movie Night

Help us celebrate July as National Parks & Recreation Month with an evening of outdoor games, activities and the movie Kung Fu Panda 4 shown on the NRH Centre Outdoor Plaza. This free family event will take place from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 25. Feel free to bring a picnic but please no glass containers.

🎅 Christmas in July Drone Show

Feel Christmas joy in July with a special drone show at NRH2O Family Water Park on Saturday, July 27! Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a DJ, vendors selling Christmas items, and custom food items, plus a visit from a Summer Santa and the Grinch! The drone show will start at dusk. 📚 Behind the Book with Shari Lapena

Shari Lapena, internationally bestselling author of The Couple Next Door, will be at the NRH Library on Wednesday, July 31 to celebrate the release of her gripping new thriller, What Have You Done? There will be a ticketed reception at 6 p.m., followed by a free book talk at 7 p.m.
