Portuguese Culture & Drinking Water
Thank you to the NY Portuguese American Leadership Conference for inviting me to attend your General Assembly program this weekend. It was inspiring to hear about the work being done across the region. It was also a good reminder to me that the Village needs to renew our Sister City connections with Alijo, Portugal and Sassinoro, Italy. We realized they expired when we embarked on the process to establish a new Sister City in Ecuador. Ossining has always been a village that embraces new Americans, and we are indelibly impacted by the contributions of each new culturally diverse generation.

Last week's legislative session included approving the purchase of new equipment to address concerns with the taste and odor of our drinking water. The Village recently met with representatives from the NYC water department. It was a constructive discussion that will improve communication and responsiveness should this condition arise again. Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?... Email me (mayor@villageofossining.org), Village Manager Karen D'Attore (kdattore@villageofossining.org) or the Board of Trustees (bot@villageofossining.org).

Wednesday Meeting
This week's work session will include a discussion of the Village's intention to invite proposals for use of the kiosk at Henry Gourdine Park. Have you ever imagined a small vender operating in that space to enhance your enjoyment of this beautiful waterfront park? This could be the year when that becomes a reality. Click here to view the full meeting agenda .

Work sessions are forums when the Village Board meets with staff and experts to become informed on potential action to be taken, and generally is not open for public comment. However, the public is invited to attend in person or to watch the meeting on television,  the village website , or  YouTube .

With Regards,
Victoria Gearity, Ossining Mayor
