Warriors BEwell

The Big Race is FINALLY HERE!!!

Join us for the Warrior Run on Saturday, October 17 at the Mariemont Concourse. The evening kicks off with the 1 Mile event at 5:15 p.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 5:30 p.m., followed by food, games, and entertainment for the whole family.

This event isn’t just about running, it’s about raising critical funds and awareness to support the mental health of our children in our schools.

By registering - whether you participate in the race or not - you’re directly helping fund vital programs like Sources of Strength, Signs of Suicide, and MindPeace Rooms.

Every registration. Every donation. Every volunteer hour matters. Let’s rally together, Warriors, and show the strength of our community when it counts most! 💙💛

Helping Our Students Navigate Grief and Loss

The loss of Jim Barr, a beloved teacher and coach, has been deeply felt throughout our school community. For our students, this loss may bring sadness, confusion, anger, anxiety, or questions. Grief looks different for everyone, and there is no right way or timeline to navigate it. As parents and caregivers, we can help students feel supported, understood, and less alone as they process this loss.

Here are a few ways to support your child during this difficult time:

  • Create space for conversation. Let your child know they can talk about their feelings, ask questions, or share memories whenever they are ready.
  • Listen and validate their feelings. Resist the urge to fix their sadness or find the perfect words. Simple responses and active listening can be incredibly reassuring.
  • Maintain routines while allowing flexibility. Familiar schedules can provide a sense of stability, but teens may need extra rest, patience, or understanding as they navigate difficult emotions.
  • Make room for remembrance. Encourage your student to share a favorite story, write a note, or participate in a meaningful tribute. Remembering the ways Coach Barr made a difference can be a comforting part of healing.
  • Watch for changes in behavior. Grief may show up as irritability, withdrawal, difficulty concentrating, physical complaints, or changes in sleep. If these changes persist, intensify, or interfere with daily life, please reach out to your doctor or the school counseling team.

Above all, remind your child that grief is not something they need to rush through. They may feel okay one day and sad the next, and they may experience this loss differently from their friends or siblings. There is room for laughter, joy, and cherished memories alongside sadness.

As a school community, we can honor our beloved teacher, coach, and friend not only by remembering the impact he had on our students, but also by caring for one another with compassion and patience. If your child needs additional support, please reach out to the school counseling team. No student should have to navigate grief alone.

MHS/MJHS PTO Directory Spot

The 2026-27 MJHS/MHS Directory app is live! The Directory contains a list of all students at MJHS and MHS, as well as parent/guardian names, phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses. The Directory app is extremely helpful for reaching out to other families regarding school, team, community, and graduation activities. All MJHS and MHS PTO members get access to the directory as part of their PTO membership.

To join the PTO and get access to the MJHS/MHS Directory, use these links to join the Mariemont Junior High PTO and/or Mariemont High School PTO.

Note:  The family information in the directory is pulled directly from your student's PowerSchool forms. Your family contact information is not listed in the directory if you have not completed your PowerSchool forms or you opted out when completing your PowerSchool forms.

Please contact Kim Seichter at kimseichter@gmail.com or 781-258-3043 with your directory questions!
