Warm holiday wishes

We hope this season brings moments of peace, opportunities to recharge, and the warmth of togetherness with those who mean the most to you. As the year comes to a close, we are reminded of the importance of balance, gratitude and connection.

Pause to Celebrate

Resilient Georgia is made up of a network of diverse and well-planned public-private partnerships with a focus on regional behavioral health. Watch this video to learn more about our work and the efforts led by our 16 regional coalitions across the state. This year marked our 5th anniversary, and, together, we've made meaningful progress: Georgia’s youth now experience a lower prevalence of mental illness and greater access to care.💥Keep reading for more on these exciting outcomes.

Making Change Together

We are thrilled to share this summary report of the incredible work our 16 regional coalitions are doing to reduce mental health stigma, prevent and heal childhood adversity, emphasize trauma-informed awareness and care, and promote resilience in children and their families.

Looking Ahead

Our hope is that the trajectory for Georgia's youth mental health rankings continues on this positive trend and, together, our work continues to encourage all Georgian's on their resilience journey in 2025 and beyond.

From our hearts to yours, we wish you a holiday filled with kindness—both to yourself and others—and a new year grounded in health, happiness and resilience.

❄️Warmest wishes from everyone at Resilient Georgia this holiday season!❄️

Pediatrician Training Earns Award

What's new: Resilient Georgia was recognized by the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (GA AAP) with the prestigious Chapter Friend of Children Award for 2024.

The impact: With a $222,000 investment from Aetna, Resilient Georgia partnered with The REACH Institute and Georgia’s Pediatric Healthcare Improvement Coalition to train 68 pediatric primary care providers (PCPs) in Augusta and Columbus. The Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) course equipped PCPs in under-resourced areas to deliver critical mental health care for Georgia’s children—not just in metro areas.

What's Happening at Resilient Georgia

Finding peace and resilience this holiday season

Amid the busyness of the holidays, we encourage everyone to carve out moments for self-care and reflection. Whether it’s stepping outside for fresh air, diving into that book you’ve been meaning to read, or picking up a new hobby, these moments can help recharge and prepare us for 2025.

The Resilient Georgia team recently participated in a crochet class led by Darice, one of our Resilient Middle Georgia partners. Darice found healing through learning to crochet during a challenging time when her newborn son, Judah, was in the NICU. Sadly, Judah passed away, and Darice turned her grief into purpose, founding “Judah David Creations.” Now, she teaches crochet classes, sells her creations on Etsy, and visits a Macon, Ga. NICU every Wednesday to support other parents through this calming craft.

We're grateful to Darice for sharing her healing journey with us. This season, may we all find activities that bring us peace and resilience. 💛
