In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone: "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." This Proverbs 22:6 Bible verse is a great one for today as we had our Grandparents' Day at school. What a blessing to have grandparents who understand the importance of training up children in Christian homes and schools. We are reminded daily that In Christ Alone we are saved, and this is a message that our students at St. Peter Lutheran School are being taught daily. We pray that our children and grandchildren stay firm in their faith that they were given at their baptisms, and that they would remain focused on Jesus throughout their lives.

Serving in Worship: The Cherub Choir (grades 2-4) will be singing in church on Sunday, October 25. Please have your child to church and ready to warm-up by 9:10am. Thank you!

Voters' Meeting: The quarterly Voters' meeting for St. Peter Lutheran Church will be on Monday, October 26 at 7:00pm in the church Fellowship Hall. All St. Peter Lutheran Church members are encouraged to attend. In order to become a voting member of the congregation, members of the congregation need to attend a quarterly meeting to be voted into membership.

Grandparents' Day 2026

Grandparents' Day: Thank you to all of our grandparents, great-grandparents, and special guests who were with us today. It was wonderful to have you attend our Grandparents' Day.

Thank You: Thank you to Mrs. Kelley Fehn and Mrs. Kaeleen Homrich for organizing our Grandparents' Day. Thank you also to our volunteers who helped to set-up, clean-up and prepare our breakfast: Mrs. Rhea Yackel, Ms. Val Newton, Ms. Shana Newton, Mrs. Kristen Topham, Mrs. Courtney Roggow, Mrs. Paula Wardin and Mrs. Jenn Starke. It was a great day for our school!

Classroom Happenings

6th Grade Science: While studying cells, the sixth graders used the microscopes to look at differents parts of organisms.

Fire Safety: On Friday last week, some of our students were able to learn the importance of fire safety and get a hands-on demonstration from the Richland Township Fire Department. Thank you to the RTFD for visiting us and for helping to keep us safe in our community!

First Graders Discover the World of Bats: The first graders recently wrapped up their bat unit! During this fun and exciting unit, students learned many interesting facts about bats, including where they live, what they eat, and how they use echolocation to find food and navigate in the dark. They also discovered how bats help us by eating insects, pollinating plants, and spreading seeds. The students enjoyed learning all about these amazing creatures and discovering that bats are much more helpful than they might have thought!

Panther Athletics

Volleyball TCLL Silver Tournament Recap: Our girls' volleyball team played very well in their final tournament of the season. In their first match on Friday afternoon, they defeated St. John's/Zion in the first two games to advance to Saturday. On Saturday, they played competitively against both St. Paul, Frankenlust, and then Immanuel/Trinity in the third place game, but they lost both matches and finished fourth in the TCLL Silver Tournament. The girls made some great improvements this season and had a successful year. Great job, Lady Panthers!

Soccer TCLL Gold Tournament Highlights: The soccer team played their second game of their season ending tournament on Saturday morning against Peace. It was a very close game throughout and remained tied at 0-0 for the majority of the game. Late in the fourth quarter, Jackson Grunow was able to score the only goal for either team to give us a 1-0 advantage and our defense remained strong and held off Peace for the victory. In the championship game, our Panthers faced St. Lorenz. The Spartans jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Jackson Grunow scored a goal off of a penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1. It remained a close game but the Spartans pulled ahead 3-1, and our team could not overcome that deficit. The soccer team finished a great season with a second place finish in the TCLL tournament and an overall record of 8-3. Fantastic season Panthers!

Thank You Coaches: Thank you to all of our fall sport coaches for all of their work with our athletes during these past soccer and volleyball seasons: Mrs. Sara Grunow and Mr. Jordan McQueen (Soccer Coaches), Mr. and Mrs. Lowell & Lindsey Cramer (A-Team Volleyball Coaches), and Mrs. Margaret Hagenow (B-Team Volleyball Coach). We appreciate all of your time and energy coaching our teams!

Cross Country Results: We had several athletes compete over the weekend at a couple of different meets. On Saturday, Elijah Lipscomb (5th grade) took 1st place in the elementary division of the Bill Agresta Meet in Hemlock on Saturday with a time of 14:41 (2 mile). Zac Zaleski (5th grade) competed as well and took 7th place with a time of 17:07 (2 mile). On Sunday, Roland Waugh competed in the Michigan District Lutheran Middle School Championship and finished with a time of 17:10 (2 mile). Great job, runners!

Parent Sports' Meeting: There will be a Parent Sports' Meeting on Monday, October 26 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria for all parents who have a child playing A or B-Team Basketball (5th-8th graders). Your attendance is encouraged.
