For three weeks this summer, 77 young women in Detroit, San Antonio, and Denver immersed themselves in leadership training, cultural pride, and design-thinking projects that prepared them to lead in college, careers, and community. Latina Leaders x Design(R) , a Henry Ford Learning Institute initiative, is about more than a camp or classes — it’s about creating belonging, fostering confidence, and developing the tools to break barriers.
Today and tomorrow (September 17 to 18), San Antonio comes together for the Big Give, a citywide day of giving. This year, we are asking you—our friends, families, and champions—to help us raise $47,000 to bring the San Antonio Latina Leaders Summer Program to life in 2026.
Why this matters:
- Latinas earn only 57 cents for every dollar earned by white men.
- While Latinas are one of the fastest-growing student populations in the U.S., only 19% complete a bachelor’s degree compared to 45% of white women.
- By investing in these young women now, we shift this story—together.
Your donation isn’t just a gift, it’s a statement that our future leaders deserve every opportunity to thrive.
Here’s how your support makes a direct impact:
- $1,150 – funds a stipend for one young woman for the full three-week program
- $800 – covers one week of meals for 30 participants
- $500 – provides supplies for all 30 participants across 3 weeks
- $250 – sponsors a guest speaker or cultural workshop, connecting participants with Latina role models
- $100 – provides healthy snacks for one week
- $50 – supplies our young women with shirts, notebooks, and items that say “I belong here”
Every contribution, big or small, builds a stronger future for our community. Click here to donate.
Share this campaign with your networks, post on social media, and let’s show Latina Leaders the power of comunidad.
Thank you for believing in the power of our young Latinas. With your support, we can open doors that will ripple across generations.
Con esperanza y corazón,
