The Spring Lake Township Board of Trustees met on Monday, September 8, for our regular monthly board meeting.

Here are a few of the key items the Board discussed or acted on during the meeting.
2024/2025 Audit
The Township’s 2024/2025 annual audit received an “unqualified opinion” that the Township’s financial statements accurately reflect the financial position of the Township, the highest level of audit opinion. The board heard a report from Dan Veldhuizen of Siegfried Crandal.
The audit underscores Spring Lake Township’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and continued strong fiscal stewardship of taxpayer money and resources.
Waste Hauler Contract
The board approved Republic Services’ proposal for providing waste hauling services to the Township, beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
The Chamber of Commerce, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg Agreement
The board approved entering into a new agreement for economic development services with The Chamber of Commerce, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg beginning Oct. 1. The new contract will cost an annual fee of $5,000, which represents a significantly reduced cost (previously $36,200 per year) and will cover a reduced level of services.

**Property Tax Reminder**
Don’t forget that property taxes are due Monday, Sept. 15.
Call the Township Office at 616-842-1340 for payment total and information. Tax payments can be made in person, by mail or online.

Upcoming Dates

Supervisor Jerry Rabideau will hold office hours at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Spring Lake Community Center, 15549 Cleveland St.
- On Monday, Sept. 15, Spring Lake Township will hold a joint meeting with Spring Lake Village to celebrate 10 years of space sharing. This unique collaboration has saved significant resources for taxpayers in both communities.

Spring Lake Fire Department will hold an Open House at 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at 106 N Fruitport Rd. Bring the family for a fun, free evening with:
- Meet and greet with first responders
- Educational displays and fire safety tips
- Hot dogs, chips, drinks and more
- Games and activities for all ages
