Hey Everybody,

National Homelessness Law Center - Right to Housing Forum

For this year's Human Right to Housing Awards, we're thrilled to honor Paul Boden of the Western Regional Advocacy Project (WRAP) with the Justice Award.

Paul Boden is receiving the Justice Award in recognition of his decades-long dedication to advancing housing justice and defending the rights of people experiencing homelessness. Through his leadership and co-founding of WRAP, he has helped build a national movement centered on the voices and experiences of people directly impacted by homelessness.

A nationally respected advocate, Paul has spent more than four decades organizing alongside unhoused communities. WRAP's groundbreaking research, outreach, and advocacy have helped shape homelessness policy and strengthen grassroots organizing efforts across the country.

Join us October 22nd for a march and rally on the National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality!

With the acceleration of kidnappings and fascism waging terror in our communities, it is especially important that we connect our fight for police abolition to defending our communities against ICE. We must fight back against state violence on all fronts and understand policing and its abolition as central to liberation for all!

Email us at stoplapdspying@gmail.com if your organization would like to join and endorse.

The Making of Homelessness

How U.S. Policy Turned Poverty into a Permanent Condition

Over the past four decades, homelessness in the United States has grown into a nationwide travesty .The Making of Homelessness shows that this outcome was not inevitable.

It is the result of deliberate policy choices that shifted responsibility away from the federal government and toward individuals, local governments, and private markets.

Since the 1980s, federal housing and welfare policy has transitioned away from long-term investments that help people stay housed and toward short-term crisis responses that manage homelessness after it occurs.
