It happens only one night a year...the magical Harbor Illumination. Join us as we once again light the harbor with more than one thousand flares celebrating Hull's maritime heritage. There is so much happening at this year's Illumination!

The Hull Lifesaving Museum invites you to dive into summer nostalgia with our newest exhibit in the Staircase Gallery: Beach Days and Bathing Suits: Fashion on Nantasket Beach. This whimsical and eye-catching display features actual vintage bathing suits. and a curated collection of classic Nantasket Beach posters that once lured beachgoers to our iconic shoreline. Make This a Summer to Remember! Looking for a fun and flexible summer option for your child? The Hull Lifesaving Museum's Summer Adventure Program is the perfect way for kids ages 5-11 to spend their summer days exploring, creating, and discovering something new each week!


Choose one week or join us for all seven! Each Tuesday - Thursday, kids dive into exciting weekly themes through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, and a mix of history, science, and art - all by the sea.


Two program options: ~Morning Session: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

~ Extended Day: 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Adventure Awaits This Summer!

Looking for an unforgettable summer experience? Hull Lifesaving Museum's Summer Explorers Program invites teens ages 12-16 to dive into the adventure of Boston Harbor!


Each week offers something new -- from rowing and commanding traditional open water boats, to piloting outboard motorboats, mastering navigation skills, exploring the harbor islands, and even learning the art of boat building. Whether you're a first-time adventurer or already love being on the water, you'll build new skills, make new friends, and discover the incredible natural and maritime history right in our own backyard.

Choose your weeks -- or come for all seven! All sessions start from our Windmill Point Boathouse, using our fleet of traditional rowing craft and outboard boats.


Get ready for a summer of discovery, leadership, teamwork, and endless fun on the water!

This summer evening celebration is in grateful tribute to the French sailors and marines who served and died at Fort Independence during the American Revolution.

Ever wish there was summer camp for adults? Now there is. Join us for Adult Explorers, a three-day adventure program designed especially for grown-ups who still crave discovery, fresh air, and a little fun on the water!

Set at the Hull Lifesaving Museum’s Windmill Point Boathouse, each morning includes hands-on exploration of marine life and harbor ecology. You’ll study nautical charts, test water quality, observe seabirds and local marine species, and head out for a daily harbor row in our traditional boats.


Whether you’re a lifelong learner, nature lover, or just a kid-at-heart, Adult Explorers is your invitation to dive back into curiosity, connection, and the joy of summer by the sea.

Beach Day Storytime & Craft at the Hull Lifesaving Museum!

Join us for a delightful morning of sunshine, storytelling, and seaside creativity! We’ll read Beach Day by Pam Nealon-LaBreck, beautifully illustrated by Marianne Frances. After the story, children (ages 3–5) will create their very own clay-and-sand sandcastles inspired by the book.

While the kids sculpt, Pam and Marianne will share the story of their 28-year collaboration, show original sketches, answer questions, and sign books. Don’t miss this sweet summer memory in the making!

Friday Painters

As summer unfolds, the Friday Painters of Hull—an inspiring collaboration between the Hull Lifesaving Museum and Hull Artists—continue to explore the town’s beauty through art.

Each week, we share a new painting location that showcases the natural charm and scenic variety of Hull, from windswept seashores and historic landmarks to sweeping vistas and tucked-away private gardens.

We start early to make the most of the morning light and wrap up before the midday sun gets too strong.


All are welcome—free and open to artists of every level. There’s no instruction provided—just bring your own supplies, find your view, and enjoy a peaceful morning of plein air painting. A chair, sun hat, and water bottle are highly recommended!

Catholic Charities’ Sunset Point Camp Teams Up with Hull Lifesaving Museum for Maritime Mondays

The Hull Lifesaving Museum is thrilled to welcome children from Sunset Point Camp every Monday this summer for an unforgettable experience on land and sea. Through a new partnership, campers ages 5 to 16 are diving into Hull’s maritime heritage and hands-on adventure in a program that blends learning, exploration, and fun. Read more.
