From us and ours to you and yours, have a Happy and Prosperous 2025!

Blowing Rock WinterFest!

Join us for Blowing Rock WinterFest, January 23-26, 2025!

Don't hibernate, celebrate! Blowing Rock WinterFest is a four day celebration of the winter season, and all the warm pastimes we love to enjoy when it's cold.

This year will feature the ever-popular Polar Bear Plunge at Chetola Resort, Rotary Chilly Chili Challenge, WinterFest Beer Garden, Ice Carving Demonstrations, Winter Paws, and much more! New events this year include a cornbread cook-off and a local music crawl. Many local businesses will host special events, too, like a gem-cutting demo at McCoy Minerals and an Artisan Pop-Up at Storie Street Grille. Check the event schedule often this month for ongoing additions!

Winter Attractions and Getting Around

We're continuing to get a lot of questions about whether or not travel is advisable in the area. The High Country is open and ready to welcome you! We have snow tubing, skiing, ice skating, Mystery Hill, Grandfather Mountain, and more. We hope to see you soon!

Continued visits and support for Western NC are so appreciated, as full recovery for residents and businesses in the region will take time. Monetary donations continue to be vital for many of our neighbors- find out more about the best ways to donate here.

Blowing Rock Honored!

For a second year in a row, readers of NC Tripping have voted Blowing Rock as "Best Downtown in North Carolina."

Whether you’re walking around shopping at any of our locally-owned and operated stores, enjoying the beautifully manicured gardens in the summer, taking in the festive lights in the winter, or simply sitting in the park enjoying an ice cream, well, anytime of year - there’s always something to look forward to in downtown Blowing Rock.

We would like to thank everyone who voted and participated!
