200th Project Financed Through BetterBuildings Northwest Ohio

The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority celebrates the 200th project financed through BetterBuildings Northwest Ohio (BBNWO). The 200th project provides $63,665 in energy efficient financing to aWLCo Ventures, LLC, a real estate holding and management company owned by Will Lucas for the acquisition of 1015 N Summit Street, which will soon be the new home of Commons Pizza & Cinnamon Rolls! Energy efficient upgrades to the facility include HVAC, roofing, insulation, wall repair, windows, and lighting upgrades. It is anticipated these upgrades will result in $4,896 in annual energy savings!

.

“Through our nationally recognized BetterBuildings Northwest Ohio program, we empower property owners to reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and minimize their environmental impact. We’re proud to announce this milestone project as part of that ongoing effort,” said Thomas J. Winston, President and CEO of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. “Will Lucas is a valued partner and repeat participant in our financing programs, and we’re excited to collaborate with him once again. This project not only brings new dining options and job opportunities to our community, but also reinforces our commitment to a healthier, more energy-efficient, and sustainable future for the region.”

Commons Pizza & Cinnamon Rolls, currently operating inside TolHouse—also owned by Will—will move to its new location once renovations are complete, which is currently scheduled for early next year. The menu features artisan pizza with locally sourced ingredients, scratch-made Kota Cinnamon Rolls, and their signature World’s Best Wings, famous for their crisp texture and unforgettable taste.

.

"From start to finish, Dana Clark [PACE Administrator] and the Port Authority team made navigating PACE funds straightforward and stress-free," said Will. "Their support is a big reason Commons Pizza & Cinnamon Rolls is able to bring our new location to life in the Historic Vistula District. What’s better is even though the financing is secured, the Port Authority remains a partner - helping us to create more opportunities for jobs and wealth in our region."
