Dear Robert,

JAMBO greetings from Kenya! As I write this, I’ve just ended a 3-week pilgrimage to Nthare, Kenya, Africa.

Walking with Fr. Linus, St. Vincent de Paul Parish Community of the Diocese of Meru, I reflected on how many of you have joined us in supporting the upgrade of this village community -- providing not just buildings but learning, nursing and the pastoring that is essential to the development of personal abilities and the assurances necessary for one’s personal discovery of Goodness.

My privilege today is to share the tremendous progress we are making.

First day of school in a new building

 In the field

Twelve years ago, we started visiting and supporting Nthare, Kenya, a place where people would not appear to be enjoying life, scratching out an existence in a land of drought and hunger.

Today, we find people who work as much as they can, as long as they can with new and sustaining hope, goals, ambitions and aspirations for medical care, education and farming.

With your help through the Vineyard, they are digging water wells, receiving medical care through the clinic we built together and educating children in a school newly opened with your support.

Take a minute or two with these pictures and short videos that document some of the progress we have made. Try to imagine the depth of my gratitude for your support.

Look at every good you have done! With a radical resilience, you dug water-wells to conquer our thirst; you installed power to allow Light to conquer Darkness; you built a school to educate; built a clinic to heal and to deliver babies who without your help would have never been born OR given a chance to live as nurtured.

Beginning with seven milking cows you gave us 26 cows to nourish; supporting a courageous Kenyan priest who (with no help from his diocese) believes that a parish needs to help God’s Kenyan people to live. “Be church after going to church.”

I pray you Peace, with Every Goodness,

Ken Deasy
