MTB Boletín en Español

Throughout February, we celebrated our wins, both big and small! All of our students have a lot to be proud of. We wanted to share some exciting announcements from our Senior Fellows and Leaders.

From our Senior Fellows:

Joana has been admitted to Rutgers Newark, William Paterson University, Farleigh Dickinson University, Caldwell University, Kean University, Montclair State University, and Centenary College.

Roselyn has been admitted to Farleigh Dickinson University, Seton Hall Univerity, Montclair State University, and University of Hartford.

Jackie has been admitted to Montclair State University, Stockton University, Drew University, Ramapo University, Kean University, and The College of New Jersey.

Yessenia has been admitted to Ithaca College, Montclair State University, and the University of Scranton.

Alyssa has been admitted to Stony Brook, and the Quinnipiac University Honors Program.

We couldn’t be more proud of our seniors and excited as they await further acceptances and enter into the next stage of the process to determine which financial package and school make the most sense for them and their families.

From our Leaders:

Nereida has chosen a major: Spanish with a concentration in translation and a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies.

Michelle has been selected as an MLT Career Prep Fellow. Check out this program and see if it might be something you are interested in pursuing in the future.

What We've Been Up To...

Right now, Junior Fellows are working on essays for scholarships (like Questbridge and HSF Scholar Program) to get ready for all the essays that will come next fall.

Senior Fellows are waiting on college acceptances and working to understand major maps, transfer credits, and the resources available at different colleges.

Understanding the Cost of College

We’ve been talking a lot about what college actually costs (not just tuition) and what resources are available to pay for college. Thanks to our College Student Leaders who shared their financial packages with our High School Fellows, we all have a greater sense of how it's possible to pay for college and the different resources that are out there.

Here are two brief videos (in Spanish):

The first video helps unpack the fact that private colleges can be just as affordable as, if not more affordable than, public colleges.

The second video goes into the resources available to pay for college
