Important Notice(s)

On October 19, 2026 UH APEX Accelerator had the honor and priviledge to host Department of War, Office of Industrial Base Growth Leadership in our offices. James Mishmash, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Growth,& Director of Small Business Programs and Khalil Mack, Deputy Director, Office of Industrial Base Growth, Director, Defense Marketplace Readiness met with UH APEX Leadership to discuss ongoing efforts in preparing local small businesses to work with the Federal Government.

Mark your calendars: National Veterans Small Business Week is November 9–13!

The celebration honors America’s 1.6 million veteran-owned small businesses and the commitment to excellence, quality, and strength that defines veteran entrepreneurship.

TRANSITION FROM CFOLDERS TO TECHNICAL DATA MANAGEMENT TRANSFORMATION

DLAs procurement technical data is transitioning from cFolders to TDMT on June 22, 2026.

To ensure uninterrupted access to technical data in support of DLA procurements, vendors must register for an AMPS account and set up Okta Multi-Factor Authentication.

Without an active AMPS account by June 21, 2026, vendors will lose technical data access when the transition occurs.

On July 13, 2026, the Department of War announced the immediate suspension of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Phase II requirements, which was originally scheduled for November 10, 2026.

All Phase I self-assessment requirements remain firmly in place. The Department will begin a comprehensive review of CMMC aimed at aligning with the Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s Acquisition Transformation System (ATS) directives prioritizing speed to capability, lowering barriers for small, medium, and non-traditional businesses, and replacing bureaucratic compliance with scalable, resilient cybersecurity measures.

All SAM.gov users have differing levels of access (roles) to the system. The role that allows the most access is called an Entity Administrator (EA). Entity Administrators play a vital role for your entity in SAM.gov. Having more than one EA at all times can help ensure continuity and that you never lose access to SAM.gov. Taking the time now to make sure you have two or more EAs can help you avoid potential access issues later.

One important task an Entity Administrator performs is to maintain your entity registration (i.e., renew every year). An active registration lets you conduct business with the federal government and get paid if you have a contract. If your registration expires, you can no longer contract with the federal government until you renew it. If your only Entity Administrator leaves your organization, you must then undergo a rather time-consuming process to. But you can avoid this hassle right now. Click Here to add a new Entity Administrator.

Entity Administrators also manage user roles, meaning they can assign EA roles to others. Making sure you have more than one EA at all times ensures you have a trusted someone who can renew your registration each year, when the time comes. Plan ahead now; it's good practice to have more than one EA as a back-up for your entity. Click Here to assign an EA.

Fraud Alert

Be aware of fake government requests for quotes. Scammers send fraudulent requests through so-called "spoofed" email addresses to obtain quotes, and at times even receive goods from you that you will never see payments for. Take a moment to review this very important information on how these frauds look like and how you can protect yourself and your organization from becoming a victim. https://gsaig.gov/news/fraud-alert-fake-government-requests-quotes

Fraud: Guidance on Third-Party Solicitors

All IAE Systems and assistance from the Federal Service Desk are free for public use.

Some SAM registrants use a 3rd party company at their choosing who charge a fee to handle registrations. This is optional, not a requirement. If you receive a message that is not from SAM.gov or another official government (.gov or .mil) email domain, it is likely from a 3rd party solicitor.

Entity Registration: What are my yearly renewal requirements for my entity registration?

You must renew and revalidate your registration at least every 12 months from the date you last certified and submitted the registration in SAM.gov -or sooner, if your entity's information changes. Note: Entities with only a Unique Entity ID (which does not expire) only need to update in SAM.gov when the entity information changes (KB0016829).

Entity Registration: How do I check the status of an entity registration or Unique Entity ID in SAM.gov?

You can use the "Check Entity Status" tool to check the status of an existing entity registration or if a record is pending assignment of a Unique Entity ID (UEI) (KB0071810) You must be signed in to your SAM.gov account and have a role assigned with the entity or be signed in with a federal government email address (ends in .mil, .gov, .si.edu, .dodea.edu, or uhus.edu) to use the Check Entity Status tool. If neither is the case, you CANNOT use this tool to check an entity's registration status. If you need to request a role, refer here (KB0016602).

Entity Registration: How do I update/renew an existing entity registration in SAM.gov?

If your SAM.gov Entity Administrator is no longer with the company or there is not an Entity Administrator associated with the registration, please create a user account and submit an Entity Administrator Appointment Letter (KB0016652) to gain access to update the existing registration. If there is an existing administrator and you only need a data entry role assigned to you, you can request a role (KB0016602). If you need to be listed as an administrator for your entity also, the current administrator will need to assign that role directly to you (KB0036075). It cannot be requested.
