Here Are the Lads... 4 in A Row, Going Strong!
EB's rad 50's & 60's cover band, rocked the C Note in Hull with so many dance tunes we couldn't sit down! Dan Cohen, Peter Lee, Mike Quaglia and Adam Vitali, harmonize and breathed new life into old favs. The night was FAB!!
4 in a Row formed while the guys were still at EB High in 2014. Gus Muscato was their first drummer when they debuted at Chilli Head BBQ in WB. Dan, Peter, Gus and Mike became a huge EB sensation after following the drama club's performances of Bye Bye Birdie with their own. Quickly they were booked at every sweet 16 party and many graduation party. Dale & the Duds invited them to join them on choice gigs.
After high school, they played intermittently, while college was on their plate. Now graduated, they are back at it in full force! Gus choose to move on, so Adam stepped in to bang out the beats. And kids, if you recognize Mike, that's because his daytime gig is keeping our schools clean as EB schools newest custodian. Listen up daddy-o, you'll want to catch 4 in a Row at their next gig, or book them for your party.

Kevin Washington
In 2015, Kevin Washington became the first African American - and the first person of color - to serve as CEO of the YMCA of the USA.

Besides reimagining a new service delivery system across the Y movement, Washington was a leading national voice for relief from federal government for nonprofits devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He spearheaded the highly successful #Relief4Charities effort, put Y-USA on a path to become an anti-racist, multicultural organization and engaged young people as changemakers in their communities.

Opal Lee
This is a portrait of civil rights activist and community leader Opal Lee. It was unveiled in the Texas Senate Chamber.
Ms. Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth, is a Fort Worth native who has devoted her life to promoting the observance of Black History Month and Juneteenth at the national level.
Through her advocacy and Juneteenth Walks for Freedom, she has been the driving force behind the creation of National Black History Month and the recognition of Juneteenth as a national holiday. Her work paid off on July 22, 2021, when President Biden signed S. 475, the “Juneteenth National Independence Day Act,” which designates Juneteenth National Independence Day as a national legal public holiday.
We are proud to honor her contributions to recognizing Black history today and every day.

Climate Can-Do:
Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles are a more sustainable way for people to get to where they are going. These vehicles offer less maintenance and repairs, less expensive when it comes to fueling, and most importantly cause less pollution.

In Massachusetts the Zero Emissions Vehicle commission, or ZEV, was established in 2015 and is working to help support the zero emission vehicle adoption in Massachusetts. Their overall goal is to promote zero emission vehicles, also known as ZEV’s. These vehicles include fuel cell, plug in, or battery electric cars, buses, and vans.
When it comes to making more charging stations for electric vehicles, companies like Chargepoint are offering funding in order to install more of them. This would help make it more accessible for those who want this sustainable transportation. It would make it easier to charge their cars with more available charging stations in Massachusetts.

If you want to find out more about ZEV commission or would like to see more about the funding going into electric vehicle charging stations, read the links provided.

Equilibrium

A worthy quest for our lives:
Balance between all factors, finding equilibrium.
Work and family; Meeting physical and spiritual needs. To find work that provide for necessities, and be challenged intellectually.
Have companions who understand and encourage us, as well as those that make us think differently. To exercise, and rest. To eat nourishing food, and enjoy eating. To laugh and be hugged and to cry and be hugged! (And to not be touched if you don't want it!)
Meeting our needs allows us to function better in all of our relationships, our families and in community.

"Moral Education is the source of that spiritual equilibrium on which everything else depends and which may be compared to that physical equilibrium or sense of balance, without which it is impossible to stand upright or to move into any other position." ~ Maria Montessori

"The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner." ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

"It's a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy." ~ Lucille Ball
Have a wonderful week, Dear Reader. You are worthy of a balanced life. Sending virtual hugs.
~ Jacquie
