Joshua Study for Women

Teacher: Mitzi Lundy

August 6-October 15 Room 102

In this 10-session, verse-by-verse study of the book of Joshua, we will see God’s continuing faithfulness to fulfill His covenant promises, both to Israel then and to us today. Israel’s story is our story. We battle not against flesh and blood as they did, but we courageously war against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the Devil, trusting in the finished work of the true and better Joshua, Jesus Christ. The book for this study is $20.

Systematic Theology VI, Coed

Teachers: Scott Gables & William Wallace

August 5-December 9, Room 100

This class seeks to explore the doctrine of the future. Students will learn a systematic understanding of the Second Coming of Christ and the Final Judgment. Using Scripture as our sole authority, we will seek to answer questions like: How will Jesus return? Will Christians go through the Great Tribulation? What will the new heaven and new earth be like? The book for this study is $20.

Prayer Study for Women

Teacher: Nancy Andrews, Anna Joines

August 5-December 9, Room 102

Please join us for a class this fall that will deepen your intimacy with God and revolutionize your prayer life as we study —The Hour That Changes the World by Dick Eastman. This class offers practical, biblical tools that offer simple yet profound ways to structure your prayer life and how to turn every passage of Scripture into a fresh conversation with your Heavenly Father. Each week we will combine teaching, group discussion, personal reflection, and guided prayer times in a warm, encouraging community of women. Whether you are new to prayer or have been praying for years, this class will equip you with timeless habits that bring joy, power, and consistency to your walk with God. The books for this study are $10.

Experiencing God

Teacher: Estri Britton

August 5-October 21, Conference Rm

God is inviting you into an intimate love relationship through which He reveals to you His will, His ways, and His work. When you recognize where God is working, you can join Him in what He is doing. Carefully listening to His voice will anchor you in His plan and set you free to live it with boldness and freedom. Then you will experience God doing through you what only He can do. Join us for this 12-week study on knowing and doing the will of God. Limited to 10 participants. The book for this study is $15.

Evangelism

Teacher: Bart McCurdy

August 5-September 23, Room TBA

This 8-week evangelism class will teach you to overcome your fears by using a proven, powerfully effective way to make the gospel make sense. You won’t be at a loss for words. You don’t need to be an expert in apologetics. Instead, you will learn the forgotten biblical principle of bypassing the intellect (the place of argument) and speaking directly to the conscience (the place of the knowledge of right and wrong)—the way Jesus did.

God’s Big Picture

Teacher: Will Lundy

Volunteer Opportunities

One of the greatest blessings of our church is seeing people faithfully serve one another and use their gifts for the glory of God. As our ministries continue to grow, we have two areas with a need for additional volunteers: our Preschool Ministry and our Security Team.

PRESCHOOL

Pastor Eric reported last night at the Members' Meeting about the increase in preschool children, particularly ones & twos, on Sunday mornings and what a blessing this is for our church. He also indicated a need to split our toddlers into two classes resulting in the need for more Sunday School teachers and Worship Care Volunteers and others to monitor the preschool hall. If you have been a church member for at least six months and would like to volunteer in preschool (nursery, toddlers, prekindergarten, hall monitor), please contact Melissa Willis at mwillis@tgbc.org or Pastor Eric at eboswell@tgbc.org.

SECURITY TEAM

Our church security team is also looking for new members. Providing a safe and secure environment for our church family is an important ministry. Our Security Team helps ensure that everyone—from our children to our senior adults—can worship with peace of mind. There are many ways to serve on the team: armed and unarmed, Sunday morning camera monitoring, parking lot/golf cart, medical, Sunday night cameras, Wednesday night cameras (Aug-May). If you are a church member and would like to support this important team, please contact David Reasonover at dhreasonover@comcast.net or Desha Hearn at deshahearn@comcast.net .

Will You Pray and Consider Serving?

The ministries of our church cannot be sustained by a few people carrying the load alone. Scripture reminds us that we are one body with many members, each gifted to serve (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

If God may be leading you to serve in either of these ministries, please use the contacts above. Training and guidance will be provided.

Thank you for prayerfully considering how you can help us continue ministering to our children and caring for our church family.

Many hands make light work, and your willingness to serve can make an eternal difference.
