This Sunday, August 15, marks Parkview's 67th Anniversary. For 67 years, the people of Parkview have been advancing the gospel in Lake City and around the world. We have a special day of celebration planned as we honor those who anchored us in the gospel in the past, while at the same time expressing gratitude for all of you who partner with us now to make the kingdom more attractive than anything this world has to offer.
I hope you have made plans to join with us for worship at either 9:30 or 11:00. I understand that many people are choosing to shelter in place because of the rise of Covid cases in our area. We respect that decision and hope that you will join with us online. As always, both services will be streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube.
If you are able to join us on campus, then please plan on sticking around for a meal. We have Dixie Grill catering fried chicken, pot roast, and baked ham along with a variety of side dishes. For dessert, we have cupcakes. Our servers will be handling all of the food. They will wear masks and gloves. Out of consideration for everyone, we will have masks available at the beginning of the food line and ask that everyone mask up while going through the line. If it were up to me, that would have been a genius idea prior to Covid! Our plan is to begin serving those who attend the 9:30 service at 11:30 so that those who want to avoid large crowds can eat and leave before the 11:00 service dismisses.
We will have water based bounce houses for the kids, so pack them a bathing suit or shorts. We will have a Kona Shaved Ice truck on site. Parkview will cover the costs of the shaved ice. Brooklyn's Coffee Truck will be on site and her brewed and specialty coffees will be available for purchase. It is going to be a great day. I hope you will consider joining us.
Parents, please consider joining us on Friday and Saturday, August 20-21, for our parenting seminar, Grace Based Parenting. I think you will be encouraged and I pray that it will set the tone for your family for a good school year. Meals and materials are included for $40 per couple, $20 for single parents.
