This Week in Worship

We return back inside to worship this Sunday after a beautiful morning of worship with all our animals last week. We begin our Stewardship season where our theme is "There Will Your Heart Also Be" based upon the portion of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount where he challenges us to consider what we treasure most and how our lives will tend to be determined by that treasure. Join us on-site or online at 10am.

FINANCIAL RESOURCES MINISTRY

Hearts, prayers, participation, pledges

April showers bring May flowers; October foliage brings ... stewardship! This year's stewardship campaign kicks off on Sunday 25 October. We are very excited to share this year's theme and mantra in Sunday's service, and the Financial Resources Ministry will love-bomb coffee hour alongside Personnel. Come let us join all our hearts together — whether in the Sanctuary or online — in prayerfully, lovingly, and joyfully pledging our support for the next year of our church life!

Last Sunday Bible Study

Sun. Oct. 25, 2026

8:45-9:45am - Tucker Room

Bible

Join us this Sunday, October 25th, for our Last Sunday of the month Bible Study in the Tucker Room before worship. We'll consider together the most famous sermon of all time - Jesus' Sermon on The Mount and the particular passage that we'll be considering later in the worship service - "where your treasure is there your heart will also be" from Matthew 6:19-21. Come with your own Bible or we'll have Bibles available. Come with a ton of Bible knowledge or none whatsoever. Come with questions, doubts, wonderings and ponderings and together we'll dig into the sacred text and see how it speaks to our lives.

Walking Groups

Did you know, there are two opportunities to get outside for some fresh air, friendship, and fitness each week at FCCW? Tuesday mornings we meet at 10am (new time) at 2 Mayflower Rd. for a walk on paved streets with hardly any cars. Thursday mornings we start at 11am. Meeting place is 82 Salisbury St. and we walk “the flats”. Both walks are about 30-40 mins. We’d love to see you there!

All Souls/All Saints Death Over Pizza

Sun., Nov. 1, 2026 Palmer Room

Death Café is an international movement based around open and honest conversations on death and dying. On Sunday, November 1, we will divide into groups in the Palmer Room and share our personal experiences and responses to death and dying. Speaking openly and honestly about our fears, sorrows, concerns, and hopes helps us prepare to "die well" when our time comes, and as we accompany others in their process as well. Food and drinks provided, with gluten-free and dairy-free options. All are welcome. Please register, so we know how much food to get.

Mission & Outreach Ministry

Pine Ridge Service Learning Trip

Special thanks to Andrew Sansom for donating a tour of a plane at the Hanscom AFB. This donation helped to benefit the mission trip to the Lakota Reservation in June 2026, and our family really enjoyed learning more about small aircraft (while staying safely on the ground.  Andrew sure does know A LOT about planes - thanks again!"

The Dwelling Place

October

A great thank you to our families and youth who volunteered at the Dwelling Place this past Saturday. We served a warm & delicious Cowboy Casserole which was a hit with everyone. Along with a salad, brownies & cookies, 60 guests enjoyed a fabulous meal and conversation with the kids & teens.  Thanks to Rev. Maeve for the planning, along with Eliot Ragosa, Betsy & Jonathan Goodell, Bian Yu, Jesse Yang, Libby Holman & Petra Samson for providing the meal & elements.

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Church!

Thanksgiving day (November 26th) from 12:30pm in the Tucker Room

thanksgiving

If you don’t have other plans, please consider joining us at the church for a Thanksgiving dinner. You are welcome to come alone, with family or friends (whether connected with the church or not) - any combination is welcome.

If you know anyone who might be alone for Thanksgiving dinner, please consider suggesting this to them. If you have been to these festivities before, you will know that we typically have about 30 people, with a range of ages - children through elders - and have a happy time together, along with good food. If you haven’t been before, please consider giving it a try.

Those who wish to bring a food contribution (sign up here to contribute food) and you are welcome whether or not you do this. The event is free. We always serve turkey along with its sides and plenty of pies. Gluten free, vegetarian and other special requests will be happily accommodated, as long as we know in advance. Please sign up here to attend, though you will be welcome even if you don’t do this!

If you have questions, please contact Penny Sparrow at pjsparrow2@gmail.com.

Deacons Retreat

Your deacons spent last weekend on retreat together - starting with a pizza party. Look at these hidden talents. We spent Saturday at Richard and Heather Carbone's beach house in Rockport (thanks Richard and Heather) where Rev. Will led us in a reflective and inspiring series of conversations about our church in today’s world and our community. Ask a deacon about the topics - your thoughts and perspective would be so welcome!!!
