Federal Action Slashes OICA Budget,

Emergency Donations Needed!

Hello Christine,

There is no way to sugar coat this: The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy faces an existential threat and our ability to be the independent voice for children is at risk!

The executive order yesterday to freeze all federal grants has cost OICA $5,000 a month - or $30,000 for the first half of the year. That is close to a tenth of our overall budget for that period.

Even worse, we may not even be paid for work we have already done on this grant, which is intended to get more Oklahoma children the healthcare they desperately need.

So, Christine, if you believe in our work and our mission - to be the independent watchdog over state government - now is the time to step up.

  • If you have never donated to us, NOW IS THE TIME.
  • If you are planning a donation this year, NOW IS THE TIME.
  • If you are a regular donor, Christine, WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER!

All this is put at risk:

  • Our lobbying efforts at the State Capitol;
  • Our unique and unmatched advocate training programs;
  • Our advocacy efforts among state agencies; and
  • Our work to develop policy initiatives that have made a critical difference over the last 40 years.

Christine, I cannot stress this enough. Everything we have accomplished in the last four decades - ensuring another "Oklahoma Shame" has not occurred - it is all on the line, and it is all up to you.

Please help us in our most desperate hour. Thank you in advance, and I promise we will put your contributions to good use on behalf of our entire future - the children of Oklahoma.

Sincerely,

Joe Dorman, CEO
