Week of November 4 - 7, 2019
Dear Southern Door Community,
The beginning of November brings lots of annual highlights:
-- There's nothing to bring back one's own memories of childhood than seeing all the characters that roamed our halls on Thursday in the annual Halloween parade;
--The first academic quarter of school has ended for our middle and high school students, as has their fall athletic season; and
--If you have not bought your tickets yet for our high school musical, Beauty and the Beast - be sure to do so! This is one performance you will not want to miss!

Join us in celebrating our academics, athletics, arts, and activities - all of which make us Eagle Proud and Eagle Strong! Patti
Patricia Vickman, Superintendent
Don't forget to visit the Southern Door Arts, Crafts, & Vendor Fair on Sunday, November 3rd, sponsored by the SD Athletic Booster Club.

There are lots of new activities, in addition to the traditional items, to get you in the mood for the upcoming holidays!

ONLINE INTERNET SAFETY COURSE FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN TO DO AT HOME
Interact  is an online, interactive e-course created for parents and guardians to complete with their children with the goal of sparking basic online safety discussions in the home. This 30-minute module provides parents with the opportunity to review their own tech use to set a good example; interactive activities to complete alongside their children; and follow-up resources and activities to keep the discussions going.
This e-course gives parents the opportunity to set themselves up as the trusted adult in their child’s life. If the child sees something online they don’t understand or that makes them uncomfortable, they know they have someone to reach out to. The e-course even provides some ideas on how to start and continue these discussions, along with some bonus tips to help break the ice on awkward topics!
