Congratulations 2024 MAC Grantees!

CCLR assisted 60% of EPA MAC grantees in EPA regions 9 and 10 for a total of $14 million dollars, that’s 74% of the regions' funding! It takes a lot of work to craft a winning EPA grant application and we are honored to have been a part of so many successful applications.

If you are considering applying for an FY25 grant, contact CCLR now for our free technical assistance. It is never too early to begin your application! Request for Application expected to be released in September 2024.

EPA FY24 Grantee Highlight!

City of Sherwood Oregon

Cleanup Grant

From 1947-1998 the Frontier Leather Tannery used chromium oxide to tan cow and deer hides in Sherwood.

The company also leased land to a series of lead-acid battery manufacturers from 1956-1972. These uses have left behind heavy metals contamination that threatens community health and the water quality of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge of which the site borders.

The City of Sherwood has secured a $5 million dollar EPA FY24 Cleanup Grant to remediate the site. Through community engagement and remediation, the City will protect natural resources, and provide future opportunities for greenspace, public works and emergency operations center, and community space and a resilience hub. CCLR is proud to have supported Sherwood with grant application review. We congratulate Sherwood on their successful grant application!

EPA Job Training Grant Applications are open!

$14 million to support underemployed communities

Job Training grants provide funding to nonprofits, units of government, and other eligible entities to recruit and train local community members and place graduates into employment. The purpose of the grant is to provide training that supports secure, full-time, sustainable employment in the environmental field and prioritizes unemployed and underemployed community members living in areas impacted by environmental contamination. All training supported by the program must relate to facilitating the inventory of brownfields sites, site assessments, remediation of brownfields sites, community involvement, or site preparation.

The application submission deadline is August 15th, 2024.

CCLR is available to review your Job Training grant application! Our goal is to provide review comments within a week of you emailing your draft to us (please send in MSWord format). We can guarantee a review of draft applications submitted to us up to one week before EPA’s applications due date. Schedule a Job Training Grant Application Prep Meeting with CCLR
