REVENUE DIVISION

The Town of Windsor’s Revenue Division is responsible for collecting various sources of revenue that fund essential public services and infrastructure. The division of 5.5 people is responsible for the Town Call Center, Utility Billing, Accounts Receivable, Business License, and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT).

The Division serves the community Monday through Thursday, and is available to assist customers with payments, questions, or concerns regarding their utility bills, issuing and managing business licenses and permits, while ensuring compliance with local ordinances.

If you have a question or concerns regarding your water, use or billing, the Revenue Division has a wonderful online portal, WaterSmart that features full access to:

  • View your hourly, daily, and historical water use
  • Check for unusual or excessive water use, which could indicate a leak
  • Leak Alerts and Leak Resolution Process to help pinpoint the source and fix your leak.
  • Sign up and customize notifications for high water use, leak, or water burst alerts.
  • View and pay your bill, see your balance, and bill history

The Division has dedicated webpages providing assistance, helpful resources, and information on services. Please visit Utility Billing, Business License, or Transient Occupancy Tax.

  • Never try to beat a train through a railroad crossing.
  • If TRAPPED by traffic on the tracks and the warning gates are activated by an oncoming train, drive through the safety gates. They are designed to be driven through in an EMERGENCY.

SMART ART PROJECT

The SMART Art installation is a project that began in 2018.

The Public Art Advisory Commission identified that the SMART train station should be included on the list of places within the Town to install art. The Commission wanted people to be “greeted by art” when they arrived in Windsor.

In 2022, the photo gallery concept was approved by the Commission. In 2023, the Town started the conversations with SMART about the specific vision and the required approval process needed.

On Wednesday, June 11, with the Right of Entry Permit issued by SMART, a small army of brightly clad public employees stormed the track and made this project a reality! Thank you to all of you who had a hand in making this a reality!

CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH

Join us in celebrating Juneteenth at Summer Nights on the Green!

We will be featuring The Dylan Black Project. The band takes you on a journey back in time. To the days of the Midnight Special. Where musicians truly engage in the craft of making music.

The Town thanks Nuestra Comunidad for their coordination and efforts to promote this portion of the event!

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Windsor Residents: Know Before You Go

Planning a summer getaway? Whether you're headed to a lakeside cabin, coastal rental, or mountain retreat, taking a few minutes to prep for emergencies can make all the difference.

If you're staying in a vacation rental, make sure you know the full address, city, and county. In an emergency, 911 dispatchers need exact information to send help quickly. GPS alone may not be reliable.

Identify the local police and fire departments in the area you're visiting and save their non-emergency numbers. Also, sign up for that county's emergency alert system to receive real-time updates on wildfires, road closures, or evacuations.

Before unpacking, take note of at least two evacuation routes in case of fire or other emergencies. Cell service can be spotty, so consider downloading offline maps or carrying a paper backup.

At Sonoma County Fire District, we want all Windsor residents to enjoy their summer vacations safely. With a little planning, you’ll be ready for anything. Know before you go!

Travel smart, stay safe, and enjoy your summer!
