COUNTY EVENTS

Workshops, workshops, and more workshops!

We have another full line-up of workshops this year!

At each workshop, thanks to our friends at the Tama County Extension Office, I will have a write-up started with the basic information, and we will work through our goals together. This way all you have to do when you get home is add photos, and you are ready to roll!

Each workshop will be $10, and through March, all workshops will be open to 4-H members and friends.

National 4-H Week is coming up, and we are BEYOND READY!!

October 6th-12th

We will do the Facebook competition again this year, so start digging back through those record books and photo albums.

The themes for the contest will be announced in the October newsletter.

The winning 4-H club will receive a $50 prize into their club account.

Join us at the Marshall County Extension Office for a pumpkin painting workshop! This workshop is open to both 4-H members and friends!

Participants will get two projects for the county fair out of this workshop. The first project will be a visual arts project, where youth will have a write up about the different design aspects that they used to decorate their pumpkin. Pictures will be uploaded so that youth can use them in their write up.

The second project will be a civic engagement project. After the workshop, we will take a walk to Glenwood Place to donate our pumpkins to the residents, so that they have a fall decoration for their living space.

Registration costs $10

Are you interested in making your own jewelry? Come to the Marshall County Extension Office on November 16th and make your very own FCS project for the Central Iowa Fair and beyond!

This workshop is open to 4-H members and friends.

Registration cost is $10

We all need a blanket to help us out in these Iowa winters, but did you know that you can take tie blankets as a project to the county fair?

Join us on January 18th for a workshop where we will make tie blankets and work on write-ups for the 2025 Central Iowa Fair!

Registration Cost is $10

Do you have an eye for design? Come to the Extension Office on February 15th to show off your skills and make a t-shirt that everyone will want to wear!

*All designs will be considered for the new Marshall County 4-H fair t-shirts!!*
