Cultural Programming Opportunities

Do you have cultural knowledge or traditional skills you are interested in sharing? We would love to hear from you and connect you to Knowledge Seekers in the community. You don't have to be an Expert to share your knowledge and skills. Facilitation support is available to assist Knowledge Keepers in sharing our history with the community.

Culture Committee

The culture committee meets once per month to discuss ongoing programs and initiatives. If you would like to join the culture committee please let us know!

We are delighted to welcome Flory and Loretta, two accomplished Métis women, to our council this year. Their expertise, unique perspectives, and dedication to our community will be invaluable assets. We are fortunate to have their leadership and guidance as we move forward.

Upcoming Community Events

Join us for a memorable celebration of Metis Heritage with Music, Dancing, Food, and Great Company.

Our Annual New Year Party will focus on Heritage and Genealogy, with fun Heritage Crafts and Activities for Kids throughout the evening, Live Music, and a delicious Dinner.

For those who wish to dig a little deeper into your family tree and uncover the history of your ancestors, we will have Genealogy Experts onsite to help guide you.

Youth Winter Drop-In Program

Join us for our Winter Youth Drop-In Program to learn and explore Métis Culture and Traditions with hands-on crafting and activities for school-aged children.

Snacks and refreshments and all craft and activity supplies will be provided.

(Métis) Introductory Language Course (Winter 2025)

Check out this FREE online course of Introductory Michif to kick off the New Year.

6 Week Session Starting Jan 6

We had an amazing time with our members of all ages making beautiful Christmas wreaths and Christmas cards. The kids loved learning about the history of wreaths and how to say "bird" in Michif as they included decorative birds in their designs.

We loved celebrating and socializing with our community members at the Drop In with stew and bannock. Maarsii to all that came!

It's been another successful year for our Holiday Hamper initiave with 22 families and 45 individuals served. We are eternally grateful to our community sponsors and individual donors who dedicated money, food supplies, and their time to shop, plan, pack and deliver these boxes of much needed food and treats to our community.
