23 Street Streetscape Improvements

Notice Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2025

What's Happening?

Drainage installation is underway at the intersections of 22 Street at Park Avenue and Collins Avenue. Preliminary work for the installation of the foundations for traffic signals at the intersection of 23 Street and Park Avenue, and relocation of various conflict utility lines is ongoing. During this phase, travel lanes on 23 Street and Park Avenue may be temporarily narrowed to accommodate the foundation work.

Timeline

Construction in Segments 1, 2 and 3 is ongoing. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors should expect construction to be completed by Spring 2026. This schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

Maintenance of Traffic

A detailed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan, developed in accordance with FDOT standards, is implemented in each segment while work is ongoing. These plans will ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout construction.

During the course of this work, no more than one lane will be closed at a time, on any given roadway, in order to minimize disruption to traffic flow and ensure continued accessibility. Work may be performed simultaneously in more than one segment.

Additional details regarding lane closures and pedestrian detours will be provided in future project advisories.

What to Expect

  • Temporary work zones and lane closures may occur within the project area. Please follow detours and signage for alternative routes.
  • Pedestrian traffic may be temporarily rerouted during construction. Please be aware of detour signs for alternative pedestrian pathways.
  • Construction activities may generate noise from equipment and machinery. Every effort will be made to minimize any disruptions to the neighborhood.
