Spring Registration Opening Soon!
Current & Returning Students - Monday, October 26, 2020
First Time Students - Monday, November 2, 2020

Refer to the Registration & Important Dates calendar for additional information.
Now is the time for all of our public, private, and charter students to connect with their HS Counselor to ensure their enrollment information is sent over to review, process, and get their ACC records cleared for registration.

For our home schooled students, you’ll want to connect directly with your assigned HS Programs Enrollment & Partnerships Coordinator (if unsure of who that is, please email dual@austincc.edu).

Students should understand how to navigate and use Self Service, and this link for How to Register for Classes is a great resource to review.

Reminder: HS Programs students should always check to see if they have a balance due for any digital textbook fees or courses that are ineligible for the dual credit tuition waiver. If you do owe a balance it is imperative that you pay or set up a payment plan by the published Tuition & Payment Deadlines. Failing to pay will result in being dropped from classes!

Most Spring 2021 Academic courses will remain online (with the exception of certain Workforce courses). As you search for available course options and plan your semester class schedule, it will be important to pay attention to and know the differences between the Distance Learning options:
  • Online/ONL DIL - Instruction and testing are fully online without required online or on-campus meetings.
  • Hybrid/HYD DIL - Instruction is mostly online with some on-campus meeting requirements.
  • Synchronous Virtual Class Meetings Required/DLS DIL - Instruction is fully online with required online meetings during the specified days and times listed.

Success Tips for Best Study Practices!
academic coaching
As your student prepares to take their midterm exams, they will want to utilize as many resources as possible. Here are some success tips, resources, and insight to our Academic Coaching Department.

5 Tips for Online Student Learning Success
  1. Stay organized, be thorough, and have a set schedule.
  2. Have a designated study space that is free of distractions.
  3. Stay connected to your class. Check emails and blackboard.
  4. Take care of yourself. Give yourself breaks.
  5. Know where to turn for help. (ex. High School Counselor, ACC professor, ACC Academic Success Coordinator, and/or ACC Tutoring)

Our Academic Coaching Department is also here to help support your student. They provide FREE one-to-one academic coaching sessions and specialize in areas like note-taking, textbook reading, time management, and other related study skills.

See the flyer below for more information.
How to Complete the Midterm Advising Report
Around the midway point in the semester, students should complete an online Midterm Advising Progress Report to assess how they are doing in each of their classes. If the report indicates any areas of concern, students should seek assistance from their assigned ACC Academic Success Coordinator:
Self Care for Students & Parents!
As we approach the halfway point of this fall 2020 semester and head into the holidays it is a good time to stop and check that both parents and students are putting self-care at the top of their to-do list. We all know the basics of self-care. Things like getting enough sleep, making physical activity a priority, and reaching out to friends and families for support, but are we doing these things during Covid?
