Warrior Wellness Monthly

August is National Dog Month - the perfect time to celebrate some of the four-legged teammates who make our work so special. Dogs have an incredible way of helping us slow down, feel connected and find comfort - one of the many reasons they have such a positive impact on our mental and emotional well-being. This month, we'd like to give a special thank you to our partner, WildHearts Petventures, for creating opportunities where individuals and families can experience healing, adventure and connection alongside animals. We'd also like to recognize our youth peer support assistant, Hailstorm. We love the sessions where he's tagging along - offering a quiet presence, bringing a smile to someone's face and demonstrating the simple but powerful gift of unconditional companionship. Ashley also volunteers as a dog walker at the League City Animal Care & Adoption Center. There are so many wonderful dogs waiting for a second chance and a forever home. If you've been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, we hope you'll consider visiting your local shelter. As we celebrate National Dog Month, spend a little extra time with your own furry friend, visit a shelter or simply enjoy the joy that animals bring to our lives. Sometimes healing doesn't begin with the right words - it begins with a wagging tail.

Warrior Spirit & Skeleton Crew Adventures

The wind doesn't ask where you've been.

The water doesn't measure yesterday.

It simply invites you to keep moving forward.

On August 3rd, Gabe had the opportunity to sail alongside veterans with Skeleton Crew Adventures. There's something special about being out on the water. Conversations happen naturally. Laughter comes easily. The weight of everyday life feels a little lighter.

At Warrior Spirit, we believe healing can happen in many places - especially the outdoors.

Thank you, Skeleton Crew Adventures, for partnering with us to make experiences like these possible!

Servant Spotlight:

Raymond Giles, LuxRally Travel

Some people serve in a season. Others simply live a life of service. That is what stands out to me about Raymond Giles.

From serving as a nuclear-trained machinist's mate aboard fast-attack submarines in the U.S. Navy to helping families create unforgettable travel experiences as a Travel Advisor with LuxRally Travel, Raymond has always understood that service is about people. While he's traveled to 38 countries across five continents, what stands out most isn't where he's been - it's how deeply he cares for the people he serves.

When I asked what shaped his perspective, his answer was deeply personal.

"The loss of my father had a profound impact on how I look at time," Raymond shared. "It reinforced something we all know but do not always live by: tomorrow is never guaranteed."

It's something many of us can relate to. We often assume there will be another vacation, another family gathering, another opportunity to spend time with the people we love. Raymond has learned not to take those moments for granted.

That's why he doesn't just plan trips. He helps create memories.

"I don't see a vacation as simply a hotel reservation or an itinerary," he said. "I see couples celebrating milestones and families creating memories their children may carry for the rest of their lives."

I love that perspective.

At Warrior Spirit, we often talk about being fully present. Raymond removes the stress of planning so families can focus on what really matters - being together and creating memories they'll carry long after the trip is over.

When it comes to servant leadership, Raymond believes, "Leadership is not about being the most important person in the room. It is about taking responsibility for the people who have trusted you."

Whether he was serving in the military or serving clients today, that mindset has never changed.

What lesson from the military does Raymond hope he never loses? Accountability.

He says, "That lesson has stayed with me throughout my career and now in my business. If a client entrusts something to me, I want them to know I own it. If there is a problem, my first instinct is not to figure out who is to blame. It is to figure out what needs to happen next."

That really resonated with me because accountability isn't just about doing your job well. It's about honoring the trust someone places in you.

Raymond continued, "I hope I never lose that mindset because service, at its core, is about trust. Whether someone is trusting you beside them in the military or trusting you with an important moment in their life, you have an obligation to do everything you reasonably can to honor that trust."

Service isn't always loud. Sometimes it's simply being dependable. It's keeping your word. It's paying attention to the details. It's showing up when someone needs you most.

Thank you, Raymond Giles, for continuing to serve long after your military career ended. Thank you for showing us that leadership is rooted in humility, service is built on trust, and that some of life's greatest gifts aren't things at all - they're the moments we share with the people we love.

Raymond's personal philosophy says it best: "Don't miss your next time."
