WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT

I recently got to photograph Christy, Cory, and Winnie! This was a full-circle moment as I also photographed their wedding about 15 years ago. We met at this secluded park this photoshoot about 2 miles from where they were married! Bring your furry friend along to your photoshoot as I absolutely love capturing the love each family has for their animals.

Personal note: *RIP to our dog Percy who passed away on the 15th :( An extra reminder to photograph and incorporate your family with paws into your photo shoots.

60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

I was so excited when a longtime friend and client, Jen George called me for her honey's 60th Birthday Party.

We discussed their wants and she wanted him to have some time for family pictures on the beach with his children and grandchildren before the birthday party as well as some details and pictures with his siblings and dad at the party. (Remember, I don't charge extra for photos around New Smyrna Beach now!!!)

CENTRAL FLORIDA EXPRESSWAY HEADSHOTS

I've had the pleasure of working with CFX over the years, regularly updating their headshots. As with any large company, turnover is inevitable, bringing in fresh faces that need to be showcased on your website. By having me come in a few times a year, we can ensure your site stays up-to-date with current headshots, perfect for marketing materials, articles, or other content shared both internally and externally.

BAT MITZVAH

It was a pleasure to photograph the second Bat Mitzvah for this wonderful family. Many familiar faces greeted me, and it was so rewarding to see them at ease, knowing I would capture their best angles and every configuration and capture even more than they thought they might need. I absolutely loved how the Bat Mitzvah girl took on the role of MC for her own games—it was such a fun touch! It was also great to see her older sister, now a bit more grown up, and of course, the grandfather kept me on my toes, playfully teasing me about my flash and more.

WINTER PARK HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS TEAM PIX

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Winter Park High School's tennis team! This session was extra special for me because my daughter, Raegan, also played for WPHS, making it a full-circle moment yet again. Capturing the team's energy, dedication, and camaraderie on the court was such a joy, and I loved being able to preserve these memories for them!

If your team needs a reasonable approach to their photos, I’d love to help—just let me know (any sport!) Click the button below to view my Sports Photography Magazine. Remember, if I’m able to attend your senior night, I’ll do it at no cost to you-My Treat!

Fun Fact: The senior girl photographed alone below is the daughter of a sorority sister of mine (DDD at FSU). It had been many years since I last saw her when I photographed her in preschool—and I recognized her right away!

Women's Business Spotlight!

Show Me Sisterhood!

When I heard about this gal and her business, I thought it was so fitting to feature in this newsletter, at this exact time. Central Florida doesn't have somoene offering this service especially in this personalized way, and I think it is an incredible opportunity for you to consider.

As my daughter Raegan was graduating from high school, the time we spent together preparing for her next big chapter was truly special. We talked, laughed, and planned with such excitement for the personal journey ahead of her. Planning her time away from home and considering a sorority for her was something she wanted, but she was definitely nervous about all the expectations, un-thought of questions, and how to approach the whole process. Having Shelby would have been a wonderful addition... Especially when daughters don't necessarily want to go off of what "mom said".

Shelby Devine, the founder of Show Me Sisterhood, is a proud Ole Miss alumna who transformed her personal journey into a mission to empower young women navigating sorority recruitment. Growing up in a small town in the Midwest, she was the first in her family to go Greek, stepping into the process with little knowledge but a strong desire to find her place. She not only joined a sorority but went on to serve as a recruitment counselor and was later elected to serve on the Ole Miss Panhellenic Council. After six years of working in nonprofit, she transitioned to entrepreneurship, using her background in mentorship and relationship-building to support high school women and their parents through the often overwhelming recruitment experience.

As a mom herself, Shelby understands the emotions parents feel watching their child take on new experiences. She provides guidance not only to potential new members but also to their families, helping parents navigate recruitment with confidence and peace of mind. Show Me Sisterhood offers personalized consulting, group workshops, and expert advice to make the experience less intimidating and more empowering. Whether it's helping young women craft authentic conversations, build confidence, or guide styling choices, Shelby ensures each client feels supported every step of the way. Through one-on-one consultations and community resources, Show Me Sisterhood gives women the tools they need to approach recruitment with clarity and excitement."

Her comprehensive coaching package covers all aspects of sorority recruitment, from initial preparation to Bid Day. She is available both in-person and via Zoom to accommodate your needs. She also does the following:

  • Initial Consultation
  • Bid Day Preparation

  • Ongoing Support
  • And More!

More from Jen: Though I have yet to meet Shelby in person, I’m excited to work with her in the near future and for many years to come for clients who may be a great fit for my services! We had a wonderful, in-depth conversation about what she does and the needs of our area. Like her, I want every girl to have the best experience possible, as recruitment today is nothing like it was in the '80s. The process is completely different and involves so much more and can be mentally draining. Shelby also assured me that she treats each young lady as a unique individual. Just as every college in our country is different, so too is each recruitment process.

The Power of Style and Setting

When it comes to senior portraits for young men, having a variety of styles ensures you're prepared for any occasion. This senior needed options that ranged from casual to professional, with both natural and studio settings to fit possible different needs. By mixing different outfits and backgrounds, we created a set of headshots that offer flexibility for resumes, some yearbooks where you can submit your own photo, social media (LinkedIn and beyond), etc.

This senior wanted to ensure his photos could be used in a variety of ways, and we achieved just that! An updated headshot is essential for starting strong in college, opening doors to many professional opportunities like career fairs, interviews, and more.

For rising seniors aiming higher than most: Whether it’s for the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, or other prestigious institutions—a polished headshot is crucial for those applications the summer before your senior year. When it’s time for your photo shoot, think about the look you want to achieve, or even bring a few options like this senior did.

Natural Background- Polo

A relaxed yet polished look, the polo paired with the outdoor setting creates a natural and approachable style. This option is perfect for a friendly and confident first impression. This option is great for social media.

Natural Background- Collared Shirt

The collared shirt with a natural backdrop strikes a balance between approachable/casual and professional. It’s a great choice for senior announcements, social media, business use, and much more!

Gray Backdrop- Polo

A classic and clean studio look, the polo against the gray backdrop keeps the focus on the senior. This timeless option works well for job applications and LinkedIn profiles. This is another great balance between professional and approachable/casual.

Gray Backdrop- Sport Coat and Tie

For the most formal and polished finish, the sportcoat against the gray backdrop is ideal for professional use or if you are applying for a special school that dictates this look. This particular picture to the left exudes confidence and sophistication, perfect for scholarship applications, business profiles, and future career steps. Feel free to bring a few ties to our session and we will figure out which looks best together!
