Dear Friends,
I want to thank you for all of your support. We continue to work through this pandemic and face many challenges, yet you have chosen to make a difference in the lives of families you have never met by supporting South Central LAMP.
The work we do at South Central LAMP is life changing, for the mothers, for the kids, for the families and for the whole community. Once your eyes are open to a future that can be, the possibilities are endless, and that is what we want for our families to “see” – that which is within themselves and is worth cultivating. It may be hard to believe that your donations are life changing, but they really are and do not go unnoticed.
For me, this work is personal and very close to my heart. When I was 10, both my parents lost their jobs. They had no income to pay for rent, food and a car, which they had purchased when things were going well. While she had very little to spare, my aunt would bring boxes of food so at least my parents had one less cost to worry about. I still think about how grateful I am to her and for her love and support. She changed my life and that of my parents with that simple act of kindness. My story mirrors the stories of the families we serve at South Central LAMP and I am incredibly grateful to you, who selflessly think of ways to make their lives a little easier, a little better, a little happier.
