Lent Ends Tonight!
Tonight begins Grace’s observance of the Paschal Triduum, the Great Three Days of Easter, where we celebrate our Lord’s Passover from death to life. If Lent is about reflecting on our need for God, then Easter is about celebrating God’s care for us, for even death cannot thwart God’s good purposes and designs for us. Plan to be a part of our worship—to hear, to sing, to pray—that the fullness of Easter may be yours.
Prayer Changes Things
Our Lenten reflections and disciplines often cause us to admit “things need to change.” On the Fifth Sunday of Lent, as our attention was turning to Holy Week and the Great Three Days, Pastor Brooks invited us to rethink what we mean by change and give the responsibility for changing us back to God, and to not be afraid when God begins working to change what we think is best about us, rather than what we think is a problem. On that Sunday, blank pieces of paper with the heading “Prayer Changes Things” were distributed and we were invited to simply sign our name, trusting that
God would “fill in” what needed to be changed in our lives. Pastor then invited us to return that paper with our signature to the altar on Maundy Thursday. If you would like to take up this invitation, give God space to work change in you and begin discovering how prayer changes things, then copies of “Prayer Changes Things” will be available in the narthex tonight. ~ Pastor Brooks

From Pastor Amanda: My mother, Linda Hellman, age 76, died on March 20th, at UNC’s Hospice Home after a long struggle with kidney disease. Together with my Father, Eric, they moved to Durham from Pittsburgh, PA (my hometown) in August of 2022 so that we could help care for them. They were members of Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham. The funeral mass will be in Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 6, and I will share her obituary once it’s available. Thank you so much, dear Grace family, for your prayers and love. As Easter nears, I am trusting in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. God’s Peace, Pastor Amanda
