Apparently, I struck a chord last Sunday. Naming the collective anxiety of the Fellowship Family as Election Day draws near seemed to be helpful and reassuring. Knowing that so many of us, me included, are unsure of how to feel about the news coming at us and the friends around us possibly feeling differently about issues can be hard. The hope of the Do Unto Others sermon series is to find the common ground on which we can stand, focusing on kindness, compassion, humility, respect, and love. This Sunday, we will focus on compassion and humility - I hope to see you in worship, whether in-person or online.
If you are seeking a guide that could be helpful as you prepare for Election Day - particularly as early voting has begun in Guilford County - I would recommend the Voter's Guide from the North Carolina Council of Churches, that you can access here.
As we continue to collectively navigate the days leading up to the election, may those of us who will vote red and those of us who will vote blue find the purple places - the common ground - on which we can both stand together on a foundation of mutual love and respect.
With love and gratitude,
Pastor Kathryn

Capital Campaign Update by the Numbers:
-
Monies pledged: $69,300
-
Monies collected: $21,200
The Capital Campaign Task Force, on behalf of the Session, is grateful for those of you who have already pledged to the Capital Campaign or made contributions. Because the three-year Campaign launched only a month ago, there is still PLENTY of time to offer your support. The Session recognizes the generosity of this Fellowship Family, considering that these donations and pledges are being made in addition to the support you give to the annual operating funds each year. Thank you for your prayerful discernment and all the ways you are supporting this Campaign! If you have questions or would like to pledge your support to this effort, please contact Mark Failla or Susan Harman, Capital Campaign Task Force co-chairs.

New Sermon Series:
Do Unto Others
I have heard from some of you asking if I was planning on doing any sermon series about the upcoming presidential election. The short answer: no.
The longer answer: While I'm not doing an election-centric sermon series, this Sunday, we are embarking on a three-week series about how we can treat each other in light of the political season in which we are currently living. "Do Unto Others" will have us delving this week into "compassion" and "humility" - how can we live as a "purple" congregation? Wondering what that means? Come to worship on Sunday to find out...
