"Just so happy to be here."
Hello friends!
I am spending this week dog sitting for a dear friend of mine in Florida. She and her husband have 3 sweet, active, Australian Sheppards that wake me up each morning at 4:30am (by all standing on my bed a foot away from my face) whining until l I get up and let them outside. They love their twice daily walks around the neighborhood, in which I end up taking them all separately since they each have their own speed and habits. So...needless to say, I am getting my exercise and seeing a lot of other dog walkers daily!
I passed an older gentleman two days in a row, walking a very old little poodle. The man shuffled along slowly as his little dog took its time next to him. I said "hello, how are you today?" to him on the first morning, and then again the second day.
Both days he said back to me, "I'm just so happy to be here!". He said it in a way that felt so real. So thoughtful. Maybe it was how he added the word "so" in the sentence.
As I finished my walk that second day, I thought about my brief interaction with him.
How often am I "Just so happy" to be doing something? My gratitude practice is a deep and consistent one. But am I letting myself be so present and open in the moment that I would say those words?
I think being fully present and open allows a person to feel deeper emotions, and in turn feel "so happy", or "so grateful", etc.
I'm working on diving deeper into the moment this week. Being fully present and open. Allowing myself to feel "just so _______". That feeling at 4:30am today was tired!
What can you do today to pay attention and be fully present and open? To be where you are and feel it.
Many of you are golfers and are getting out this weekend. Be there and feel that. You gardeners are itching to start digging again...be there and feel that.
Start living and feeling more deeply. It's time!
Namaste,
Amy
