I sit in the still-green grass and let my eyes rest
upon silk-thread shimmer
blade to blade, bough to bough—
minuscule tethers
connecting All That Is
When Luz is just so, unobscured by condensation,
beaming through spindly Red Cedars,
I abide to the petty tyrants catching exhales
in intimate, erratic orbit,
while mosquitoes bid for blood
to feed beloveds:
feathered, winged, many-legged
Many breaths after Ushas brought the day,
driving away the veil of chaos,
I witness the order of all things in flux:
worn-of-turning heads hang with ripe tomorrow;
Phoebe, now silent, frugal for the long flight—
Atropos present
in each leaf’s spiral descent
At the doorway of this moment,
as clouds accumulate and dissipate,
I rest in Pine needle duff
while Spider leaves her molt in my hair,
Oak trunk twists, grass tuft swirls,
patterns woven by a spinning Earth
on the threshold of a new turning
