From Your Administrative Team
Greetings Connect K8 Families,

We did it! We've made it through the first week of classes at Da Vinci Connect K8! We have had a fantastic week with kids, and are so grateful that our classrooms are once again filled with laughter, curiosity, and the magical energy every child brings to school each day. Thank you for choosing Connect, and thank you for sharing your children with us, whether on campus or virtually!

We also want to thank our families for being SO prepared to start the school year! Drop off and pick up has been incredibly smooth, thanks to all of you! In order to support your students in continuing to feel successful when at school, it's helpful to practice skills that lead to their autonomy--opening and closing snack/lunch containers, zipping and unzipping jackets, etc. We can't wait to watch them grow!

Speaking of autonomy, if you have completed the "Independent Walker" form for your older student and want them to be able to leave campus on their own at the end of the day, we are now asking that all independent walkers with their "orange tags" exit campus through the front gate, and will be checked out by a staff member. We want to avoid sending so many students in to our busy parking lot without supervision, and will be implementing this new protocol starting on Monday 8/30. Please help your student to remember to leave from the front gate at pickup time if they are leaving campus without you!

Finally, I want to ensure our 5th-8th grade families have read the e-mail from Matt Wunder (sent on Saturday 8/14) regarding the delay of our camp experiences this Fall. We hope to re-schedule for the Spring, and have already booked for Fall 2022! Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make tough decisions in the interest of everyone's health and safety.

Enjoy your weekend, and we can't wait to see you next week!

Take Care,
Kaitlin and Tami

Chromebooks for Students!
If you are a returning family who borrowed a chromebook last year and have not yet returned it, please return it and any other devices (chargers, hot spots, etc.) to the front office ASAP!

If you are a family who needs to borrow a chromebook for your student, you can complete this Request Form. If/When a chromebook becomes available to you, Kaitlin or Tami will reach out with next steps. Please know that we have a limited supply of chromebooks available for distribution, so only complete this form if it's a true need. Thank You!
Care and Comfort Kits!
As part of our emergency preparedness plan, we ask all families to contribute a Care and Comfort Kit for their child(ren). Please use THIS FORM to create your child's care and comfort kit.

Care and Comfort Kits should be dropped off during your child's 1:1 meeting, or during the first week of on-campus classes.

**Care and Comfort Kits will NOT be returned at the end of the year. Please only provide copies of photos/documents and do not include any personal items that you wouldn't want thrown away/donated. Thank you!

We are so excited that the state of CA has announced that school meals (breakfast and lunch) are FREE for all students! You can drop your student off at Connect on their school day for breakfast as early as 8:45 am. You can browse meal menus HERE.
