The Heart of Virginia Council's Leadership Center and Scout Shop will be closed on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. We remember and honor the brave men and woman who selflessly served our country. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Council Recognition Gala
Thursday, May 28th

The Heart of Virginia Council’s highest volunteer recognition, the Silver Beaver Award, will be awarded to four highly deserving Scouters. These Scouters have made a huge impact in the lives of youth through their hard work, self-sacrifice, and years of dedicated service. We will also recognize the recipients of special awards like the North Star Award, Distinguished Commissioner Service Award, National Duty to God Award, Venturing Leadership Award, Torch of Gold Award, and the Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award. Join us as we celebrate these volunteers and others at the annual Council Recognition event on May 28th at the Rockville Center.

Summer Camp at Cub Adventure Camp

One of the most rewarding and character-building things a family can do together is go camping. Bring your Scout to a session at Cub Adventure Camp this summer. Adventure Camp offers a 4-day, 3-night experience this summer at the Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation in Goochland County.

Session 1: June 12 - June 15

Session 2: June 17 – June 20

Session 3: July 17 – July 20

Buckskin - The Leadership Experience August 2nd–8th

Buckskin: The Leadership Experience is a week-long intensive course for Scouts 14+ (Star rank or higher) who are ready to lead. Participants will learn 19 essential leadership skills, advance their outdoor abilities, and apply teamwork through the Patrol Method. With Scoutmaster approval, a strong work ethic, and at least one long-term camping trip completed, Scouts will gain the confidence to lead in their units and beyond. Step up, take the challenge, and become the leader you’re meant to be!

Summer Swim Test Opportunity
May 31st

Put one less to-do between you and your Summer Camp experience! Come out to Camp T. Brady Saunders on May 31st to complete your official swim tests ahead of your week at camp. Testing groups will run from 11am to 1pm at the Lake Dillon waterfront and will be completed by BSA / Red Cross Lifeguards. See you there!
