Mission Statement

ASL Friends mission is to promote language acquisition for deaf children, while supporting family communication, through early educational programming in American Sign Language (ASL).

Meet ASL Student Taylor "TAY" Krens! This motivated, super fast learner Zooms weekly afterschool with ASL Friend Kimberly to practice her ASL!

Tay is an 8th Grader at Plum Borough Middle School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

ASL Friends asked:

Tay, why did you want to learn ASL?

I am a hard-of-hearing

teen and always wanted

to learn cause I thought

it was cool, but YouTube videos and books weren't

really working so my Mom signed me up for ASL Friends' program.

I also plan to be an ASL

teacher or go in the Super Bowl and sign for the singer. --Tay Krens
