HUNGER RELIEF

Stepping Up to Help our Community in a Tough Time

As the government shutdown continues to disrupt essential community programs, more of our neighbors are turning to local food pantries for help. At Land’s Sake Farm, we’re seeing the impact firsthand and we’re stepping up to meet it.

Each year, Land’s Sake donates 30% of everything we grow to hunger relief efforts. With need rising sharply, we’re working to do even more. Despite recent deer damage to our crops, our team is collaborating with the farm's seven hunger relief partners to increase fresh produce donations in the short-term.

We’ve also joined forces with a new partner, Healthy Waltham, providing hundreds of pounds of vegetables to help stock their November food pantry distributions.

Every day, more families are depending on us for healthy, local food. Your support makes it possible. Please consider a gift today to the Land’s Sake Hunger Relief Fund and help ensure every neighbor has access to fresh, nourishing food during this critical time.

EDUCATION

New Winter Education Programs at Land's Sake Farm

Join us in the community kitchen for seasonal cooking fun: the Little Kitchen Helpers program has pumpkin & garlic dip and butternut squash mac & cheese on the menu. Or cozy up at Farmyard Storytime, and explore the changing seasons. Adults, get creative at our Floral Papermaking Pop-Up Workshop—make plantable art with farm-grown petals and seeds! Check out our Calendar for all the ways to learn at the farm this winter.

FARMS

Smash it, Don't Trash it! Compost Your Pumpkins at the Farm

Don't trash your pumpkins, drop them in one of the compost bins in Land's Sake's front driveway! Farmers are grateful for these additions to our compost pile. Compost is an important part of regenerating our soil. Carved pumpkins welcome, however nothing with paint or stickers, as they are not compost friendly.

Fall Farm Fest Photos

Fall Farm Fest was a joy! We're grateful to our amazing team, volunteers, and vendors, and to the community for showing up to share the day. From face painting and animals, to grooving with the Passive Aggressives and savoring bites from @mamalehs, the day was the perfect send-off to our full-time farming season! Enjoy these photos from staff photographer Kelly Cammerota.
