Know what an A-Corp is? If you’re a creator or freelancer…artist, musician, photographer, actor, writer, etc…..an A-Corp, or Artist Corporation, could be your pathway to economic freedom and legal protection.

Developed by Yancy Strickler, a creator, visionary and co-founder of Kickstarter, A-Corps is a proposed business entity to help creative professionals enjoy similar financial and business security that other corporate entities enjoy.

Oh, the benefits!

One of the most important things it would do is allow creatives to maintain ownership of their intellectual property. It’s also the key to getting health insurance, LLC protection and more.

New business entities require confirmation at the state level. So far, no states have signed on to adopt this new legislation. Curious? Learn more about A-Corp here.

We’re excited to share a new website we just launched for jewelry designer, gemologist, metalsmith and appraiser Diana Widman.

Her previous site, built years ago in Joomla, made updates a challenge. She needed a modern, elegant platform that reflected her artistry, enabling her to easily add new collections as her work evolves.

We custom‑built her new WordPress site to be as functional as it is beautiful. The sleek design showcases her one‑of‑a‑kind gemstones with intuitive navigation that helps visitors explore with ease. And in the backend, Diana can quickly upload new pieces and manage her shop effortlessly.

The result? A site that sparkles — literally and figuratively. (Rickey may or may not have had to wipe drool off her keyboard while writing it.)

Explore Diana Widman Design and see what makes her work so special.

Sorry, we don’t see your face

As technology gets more and more sophisticated, some people are being excluded from an important service.

We’re talking about people with facial disfigurations that stump face recognition tools. Individuals whose faces do not fit a “normal” facial pattern due to disease, surgery or birth defects are not seen by facial recognition tools.

While some of us enjoy access to apps where we can quickly sign in with our face, people with port wine facial birthmarks or other genetic conditions can’t. Embarrassing and frustrating.

Writer Matt Burgess dives into this issue in this fascinating article in Wired Magazine.

LinkedIn is going to do WHAT with your data?

In case you haven’t heard……beginning on November 3, 2025, LinkedIn began sharing your data to help train their AI generative models. This includes your profile info, posts and articles, job application data (with details) and engagement activity. In other words, everything except private messages and payment information.

To opt out:

  • log into LinkedIn
  • select “Me” in your profile
  • select “Data privacy” in the lefthand menu
  • scroll to “Data for Generative AI Improvement”
  • Turn off the setting labelled “use my data for training content creation AI models”

Shoutout to colleague Lynn Hazan for sharing this update.

Thanksgiving – a time for Pardons

For real! The tradition of U.S. presidents pardoning a turkey each Thanksgiving started in the ‘40s but became a regular White House event in 1989. Each year, one lucky turkey (actually two, one + a backup…like an understudy) gets saved from the oven as the president pardons a turkey who is free to live out his life on a farm. Learn more here.

Wondering what we can expect this year.

Happiest of Holidays to you and your families.

Warmly,

Iris and Rickey
