Spotlight on Our Innovative String Ensemble Program
Do you have a string musician looking for an immersive learning experience that goes beyond your typical school music curriculum? Look no further than our String Ensemble Program. With a focus on violins, violas, cellos, and basses, this program pushes the boundaries of traditional ensemble music.
This innovative course is expertly designed to cater to musicians who wish to delve deeper into the world of advanced string ensemble music. Unlike your average music class, this course offers students the opportunity to perform with or without a conductor, an experience that will not only challenge but also enrich their musical understanding.
But what's the secret ingredient to the success of our String Ensemble Program? Simple: active listening. We promote an environment where students develop good chamber music ensemble playing skills by emphasizing the importance of attentive listening. As students tune in to each other’s performance, they can better synchronize their playing and create beautiful harmonies together.
For those interested, please note the Block 1 schedule running Saturdays from October 14th through November 18th. For beginners and intermediate students, classes are available for Levels 1-3, running from 10:00am to 12:00pm. More advanced students can register for Levels 4-6, scheduled from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
There's a catch, though! Participation in this remarkable course does require an audition. So, if you're up for the challenge and excited to join this musically fulfilling journey, be sure to view our audition information HERE to see what is expected for your video submission.
You can send your audition video via Google Drive or email it to artsacademy@luhi.org. We're eager to see what you can bring to our vibrant String Ensemble Program, so don't hesitate to apply!
