Letter to NKyTribune readers from Judy Clabes:

As we face the pandemic together, the Trib team wishes you a safe and healthy holiday season. We are also reaching out to ask that you consider supporting the nonprofit Tribune’s efforts to broaden individual support for its public service journalism.

We have been designated once again as a recipient of NEWSMATCH funds, provided by a consortium of national funders, aimed at extending reader support of local nonprofit news across the country. That means your donation will be doubled. Since we also have local funds for a match, we will extend our campaign until the end of January, 2021.

We hope we have earned your financial support as well as your readership. We try to give you local and state news in abundance, great local and state features, insight into the community’s challenges and vision. We try to provide interesting, compelling stories every day to help you escape from the pressures of COVID and help keep you engaged in your community. We try hard and do our best — and we know we could do more and better.

Please help us keep serving you. Access to our 24/7 news site is free and will continue to be, so we are asking for your voluntary support. NEWSMATCH will match up to $5000 for an individual’s contribution, but — believe us! — we are grateful for whatever you can do, in any amount.

This year, because of pandemic pressures, we celebrated our annual NEWSMAKERS event “virtually.” With this letter, I am also sharing with you the amazing winners of our NEWSMAKER awards who make extraordinary contributions to our community. If you haven’t read their stories, now is the time. And, while you are reading, check out other stories at the NKyTribune — enjoy and celebrate your connection to the community.

Checks can be made out to the Kentucky Center for Public Service Journalism or to the Northern Kentucky Tribune and be mailed to 644 Braddock Court, Edgewood, Ky 41017 or you can give safely online HERE. (Online, you can provide your gift in one lump sum or in regular monthly installments.)

Thank you. Stay safe and be safe and take care of your loved ones.
