A Few Notes

This weekend we celebrate the Church in all her glory. Our Diocese is 65 years old. As the Church Militant, we have fought the good fight for all these years in Allentown and under the guidance of Bishop Schlert, we will continue. On Sunday, we acknowledge the Church Triumphant, looking to the Saints for prayers, intercession, and inspiration to continue God's work here on earth. On Monday, we turn our attention to the Church Suffering, or those souls in purgatory who depend on our prayers, Masses, visits to cemeteries, and remembrances. Together we are the Body of Christ. This is the beauty of our Catholic Faith!

As a reminder, parking for Vespers, Day of Recollection, Masses, meetings, etc., will be at the school or on the street. Plan ahead. The handicap spaces are still available by entering near the Chapel, but are not guaranteed with the crowds.

Since the painters are taking their time, our Church Deep Clean has been postponed again. The new date is November 12th at 9:15 AM in the vestibule. Please mark your calendars and bring a bucket and rag if you have them!

Fr. Brelinsky will be holding a Women's Saturday of Recollection in the Chapel from 11:45 AM to 2 PM tomorrow. All women are invited. See below for details.

Vespers will be at 7 PM on Saturday (all are invited) with a campfire to follow for the Young Adults.

We hope you will join us for Family Fest this Sunday at noon. There will be live music, Catholic Trunk or Treat for the kids, games, food, a petting zoo, and lots of time to be together as a diocese. It concludes with Mass presided over by Bishop Schlert at 4:30 PM. And yes, this Mass counts toward your Sunday obligation.

Applications are available beginning this weekend on the bottom shelf of the bookcase in the vestibule for the Knights of Columbus annual Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest. See below for details.

Last chance, MEN...register for the Men's Conference HERE. Info below.

Don't forget to turn back your clocks tomorrow night.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God, I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen

Pray for Vocations

God our Father, please send us holy priests and religious, all for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all for the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with Saint Joseph.

Amen

Pray for a Culture of Life
