Duke’s Seafood – Final Dine-Out June 7th
|
|
For our final dine-out of the year, we are beyond excited to partner with Duke’s Seafood on Greenlake! Duke's will be donating a whopping 50% of the increase in sales from this dine-out, over their usual Tuesday night average. Come out to celebrate spring and come to support the Ballard Performing Arts!
These dine-outs have been a great way to say hello to other families and reconnect, and the setting at this long-time Seattle gem specializing in sustainable seafood cannot be beat. Have a beer with dinner or just drop by to have one that night because Manny's Pale Ale is on tap and 100% of every beer sold that night will be donated to our program, thanks to a donation by Georgetown Brewing Company. Both inside and patio dining are available (deck seating is not guaranteed due to weather), plus you can order takeout meals ahead of time or call in your takeout order that night.
Reservations are highly encouraged for any sized parties, but especially for larger parties. See you on Tuesday, June 7th, from 4-10 pm. (Third-party delivery services are not included in this dine-out).
Make a reservation, order takeout in advance, or schedule a pick-up (account sign up required): https://www.dukesseafood.com/locations/green-lake/

All students playing wind instruments will receive copies of audition music in the next week and will audition during class June 6-9th. Copies of the audition material will also be available on Schoology. All current Ballard Students will re-audition in person at the end of the year for next year’s placement.
Incoming freshman will receive information from their current band teachers regarding audition expectations.
Class assignments will be announced the last week of school (June 13-17).
Jazz Band audition information
Auditions for next year's jazz bands will be held the first week of school. Auditions for Big Band and Jazz Lab will be held at the beginning of next year. If students are interested in auditioning, they can start preparing and practicing from this list of material over the summer. Audition material will be chosen from this list in addition to scales. All students are expected to learn their major, minor, and dominant scales, be able to improvise over the play-alongs, and be able to play through the bebop melodies. Please go over the material thoroughly and email Mr. Gillespie with any questions.
Percussionists will audition after school on June 8th
All percussion students, including freshmen, will be required to audition to determine placings for drumline. In addition to demonstrating double strokes and paradiddles, students will be asked to play from the audition materials available from Mr. Gillespie. Snowflake Lane is hiring for Drumline and other positions for the holidays
Every year, Snowflake Lane hires a cast of various performers who all contribute to a spectacular holiday parade that occurs nightly along Bellevue Way. And we would love to count your students among them!
We audition performers 14 years of age and up (there is no age cap, so instructors and staff are encouraged to audition as well). As per usual, Snowflake Lane will run nightly from Black Friday to Christmas Eve (11/25-12/24).
All auditions will be held in September 2022.
Performers will earn $40 per night, with plenty of additional opportunities for bonuses throughout the season (meaning they can earn over $1,000 if they commit to every rehearsal and all 30 performances).
Complete the audition form for a chance to become a part of the holiday magic: https://bit.ly/SFL2022_Audition_Form. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, and we hope to meet some of your students in September!
