| | | Campus Safety Parking Reminders | | |
As this year progresses, we want to ensure everyone is as safe as possible when it comes to parking/pick-up/drop-off at and around Crean Lutheran High School. As a reminder, the dedicated pickup and drop-off areas are the yellow curb next to the event center on the main campus and the Athletic Complex at 6301 Portola Parkway. A good rule of thumb is that if you pass the yellow curb without your student when dropping off, you most likely dropped off in the wrong place. If you drive past the yellow curb with your student while picking up, you have picked up in the wrong place. If you choose to park in a parking spot, please do so only in dire circumstances, as backing out of parking spots during drop-off time affects traffic for others and yourself. Our parking lot is designed with one way in and one way out, meaning dropping off and picking up your students earlier in the lot causes traffic throughout the entire lot.
As a reminder, the Athletic Complex (6301 Portola Parkway) is a great option if your commute already takes you to Portola, since you can avoid Sand Canyon traffic. The Athletic Complex is also a great pickup location, as you can avoid the main campus traffic and pick up your student after they walk over from the Main Campus.
Once again, dropping off before 7:20 a.m. and picking up after 3:00 p.m. leads to less-congested times for you and can reduce frustration when navigating the parking lot in general. Dropping off and picking up students on main roads (Sand Canyon/Portola) is not advised, as the City of Irvine may ticket you, and it puts your students' safety at risk on busy streets.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at parking@creanlutheran.org. Thank you, Saints, and stay safe!
