Our last review of kid-friendly first phones is Pinwheel!
Pinwheel is like all the other first-phone safety products, where they have a limited number of apps, a parent portal app you can use to control their phone, and ways to help the phone grow with the child. This first phone may feel a bit limiting to an older child (teens), but for younger children who need the freedom of a phone but the safety of a monitored device, this might be just right for you. They have a way for parents to set tasks and to do lists to help their child gain independence (getting ready for school in the morning?). You can allow or block any contacts, and you can monitor all their communication with friends and family. This phone doesn’t come with a browser unless you add one, so any links sent to your child won’t open automatically. You can always download a browser once you feel your child is ready, right from the Google Play Store.
Check out their website: www.pinwheel.com
Pros:
You can select the carrier. You can put them on your plan or use the Pinwheel carrier for a nominal fee each month. They have already approved apps ready to download if you allow them on your child’s device. You don't need a second app just to text your child, and you get to turn the internet off any time you feel they need a break. For multiple kids, you get a discount for second parent dashboards on, so a family of five? Those kids 2-5 can be monitored for only $5 a month!
Cons:
This is an android based phone like the others I’ve reviewed, so iPhone families will have to learn that type of system. Not a huge learning curve, but enough that it may cause some delay in user interaction. Parent dashboard is an extra monthly cost and not built into the overall price of the phone.

After Care News
It’s that time of year again. The weather is cooler in the mornings and warmer in the
afternoons. Please make sure to check the lost and found shelf for any items your child
may be missing.
As you may have heard from your student, ASC has entered a drawing contest that
could win us $1,000. The theme is “Perfect Pet”, and they were able to draw and color a pet (real or imagined) of their choice. The contest promoters, Young Artists, are looking for drawings to add to a book series. If any of our students are chosen, we get a free book. If they end up on the cover of a book, they also get a goodie bag. Here’s one of our favorites.

If you need to reach ASC, please email, Betsy Bartow at bbartow@stpeterjc.org or
call (573) 636-8922 ext.129.

Dear St. Peter Families,
Last Friday, each family received our Stewardship: A Way of Life booklet (HERE), which invites you to prayerfully consider how you can share your time, talent, and treasure with our parish community. Stewardship is not simply about giving—it’s about living our faith with gratitude and generosity. Through your prayer, participation, and sacrificial giving, you help strengthen the mission and ministries that make St. Peter Parish such a vibrant faith family.
We ask every Catholic family at St. Peter to make a personal commitment to pray regularly, which includes attending Mass, participating actively in parish life, and contributing sacrificially through financial support. These commitments are essential for maintaining active parishioner status at our school and, more importantly, for nurturing a spirit of faith and service in your family. Please take a few moments this week to complete and return your Time, Talent, and Treasure form (HERE). Together, we can continue to build a community rooted in faith, love, and stewardship.
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Trachsel
