In Honor of Global Health Equity Week, LA HIMSS invites you to join us October 26th at the University of New Orleans (UNO) campus for a Health Equity Symposium, Health Equity from the Ground Up - Louisiana Delivers. Our speakers will delve into the challenges facing the healthcare industry as it pertains to access, equity, and social determinants. We are thrilled to have Liz Crull & Daniele Farrisi, Davondra I. Brown, and Senator Cassidy's Health Legislative Staff to share their insights and experiences. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and network with fellow healthcare professionals. Don't miss out on the chance to be a part of this important discussion. Following the Symposium there will be a LA HIMSS Social at the BullDog Bar in Mid-City. Register now to reserve your spot.

Liz Crull is a Senior Analyst at the Louisiana Public Health Institute. With 10 years of public health experience, Liz’s current role intersects clinical data infrastructure & informatics, research & dissemination, and project management. Most recently, she has brought her data management and analysis expertise to research focused on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, maternal & child health, gun violence, and chronic disease. She is passionate about leveraging data to illustrate disparities and thinking broadly about public health solutions to societal and environmental issues that disproportionately impact oppressed groups. Liz holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine

Daniele Farrisi's 17-year career in public health has been driven by her belief that all people deserve the resources and support that they need to be healthy. She is currently the Capacity Building Director at the Louisiana Public Health Institute where her work focuses on building the capacity of healthcare providers and community organizations and transforming systems to drive improvements in health outcomes. To advance this work she applies her skills as a trainer, coach, facilitator, strategist, and project manager. She came to the field of public health after a brief, early career in scientific research when she realized her interest was for equity more than discovery. She holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University.

Davondra I. Brown is a New Orleans native with over 25 years of experience in sexual wellness education, health equity, and health promotion services.
