K-6 Field Days are Coming!

Dear Lower School Families,

Since our very first year, Field Day has been a beloved tradition at Great Hearts Northern Oaks, celebrating spirited competition, teamwork, and friendship. Each class competes as its own Greek City-State, proudly wearing team shirts, while our Houses face off in their house shirts to show unity and school spirit.

Students will compete for honors such as the Thumos Award for spiritedness and self-discipline and the Laurel Wreath of Victory, earning either a Laurel Wreath or Spirit Arrow to display proudly in their classroom.

More than just athletic games, Field Day gives students the chance to live out the virtues they study, showing courage, perseverance, humility, and integrity. In just a few weeks, our campus will come alive with cheers, chants, and celebration as our students strive for excellence together!

Below you will find the field day schedule by grade. We will be looking for volunteers and snack donations on each of these days.

Snack Donations & Parent Volunteers Sign-up is OPEN!: Live Sign-Up Genius Here!

Sign up to donate for the snack station or to enter the Parent Volunteers Lottery to help staff the individual events. All 3 days are listed in the sign-up, so pay close attention to dates, times, and grade levels.

  • Parents must already have a completed background check on file to volunteer. You can complete your background check here.

  • Parents with multiple scholars may enter multiple volunteer lotteries; however, each parent may hold only one Field Day volunteer position for the week. Volunteer positions are non-transferable; one parent cannot attend in place of the other. Example: If Mom is scheduled to volunteer on Wednesday and Dad on Thursday, but Dad cannot attend, Mom may not take his place. In that case, the open spot will be offered to a parent from our standby list.

  • Lottery entries must be entered by Tuesday, October 13th at 12 noon. Lottery winners will be notified of their volunteer position by Wednesday, 10/15

  • Please note that outside of volunteer positions, there will be no parent spectators on field day. Volunteers are not allowed to take pictures or video during the event.

  • Please plan to deliver K-4 snack donations between Tues. 10/28 at 8 am and Wed. 10/29, 8am. Please deliver 5-6 snack donations on Friday, 10/31, by 8:00 a.m.
