DOH ANNOUNCES 2024 MEDICAID HOME CARE
COST REPORT LAUNCH DATE
The state Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Long Term Care Reimbursement has announced that the 2024 Medicaid Home Care Cost Report Tool will be available beginning on Friday, May 30, 2025. On that date, Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs), Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) and Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs) will receive an email from DOH’s Cost Report Contractor KPMG notifying you that the 2024 cost report is available.
Applicable providers will have 90 days to complete the cost report. Cost report submissions will be due on Friday, August 29, 2025.
DOH and KPMG will host a live 2024 Home Care Cost Report Kickoff Webinar in June 2025. DOH will send a follow-up email with the date, time, Microsoft Teams link, and telephone dial-in information in the coming weeks. The live webinar will focus on changes and new information that is specific to the 2024 Cost Report Year. In addition to the kickoff webinar, KPMG and DOH prepared pre-recorded webinar content for new home care providers or those that would like a refresher on the Home Care Cost Report background, key information, and web-based Tool functionality. These pre-recorded webinars are available in individual modules within the “Useful Links” section of the 2024 Tool Instructions tab. DOH does note that some of the pre-recorded webinar content was created prior to the 2022 Cost Report and may contain references to 2022 Schedules.
DOH highlights the following important information regarding the 2024 Medicaid Home Care Cost Report submission:
-
Similar to previous cost reports, the 2024 Cost Report will be accessible on the Home Care Tool Dashboard. The “2024” option will not be available until May 30, 2025.
- For users who completed the 2019-2023 Home Care Cost Reports, the log-in credentials for the Web-based Tool will be the same. For individuals that forgot one’s password, please click the “Forgot Password?” link on the Web-based Tool log-in page. You will then be sent an email containing the steps to reset your password.
-
If your agency needs to add additional users to the Tool, either an individual from your agency or a hired consultant, please send an inquiry to us-advrisknyshc@kpmg.com. In your inquiry, please include the first name, last name, and email address of the individual that needs access.
HCANYS will notify the membership when DOH announces their Cost Report Kickoff webinar for June.
