A Message From Our FRIENDS of the Library

kids_welcome.jpg

Do you remember that popular novel or the colorful learn-to-read book that you bought at the FRIENDS’ book sale? You helped us reach a fantastic milestone: the FRIENDS recently surpassed a HALF-MILLION DOLLARS contributed to the New Milford Library! Over the years, it has been our mission and our pleasure to collect, sort, and resell donated books for the sole purpose of funding library programs and activities. During your next library visit, take a moment to read the partial list which is posted on the Friendly Finds bookshelves. We thank you for your support, and invite you to our next big book sale on Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. The power of pennies – the force of fifty cents – the difference a dollar makes - little things add up!

We gratefully accept donations of books in good condition that you no longer need or want. Volunteers will be at the back entrance of the library every Saturday from 9:30 until Noon for assistance. (You can also return books that you previously purchased from the FRIENDS!) To learn more, visit our website at www.FONML.com or e-mail us at FONML001@gmail.com

With your library pass, you receive free admission for up to six people.

Art Displays

The library is hosting exhibitions from Gallery 25 artists Linda Parsloe, Liz Rosiello, and Annie Sadlon from July 10-August 20.

Interpretations

Brings together the work of three Gallery 25 artists whose distinct creative visions are united by a shared love of color, light and expression.

Linda Parsloe's fused glass artworks harness the luminous qualities of glass itself, transforming color, texture, and transparency into pieces that shift and come alive with changing light.

Liz Rosiello's floral and landscape paintings capture the beauty of nature through rich color and atmosphere, revealing moments of quiet wonder and connection.

Annie Sadlon's abstract compositions explore light, movement, and emotion, inviting viewers into a world of imagination and discovery.

Library of Things

The library has so many things you can borrow--like board games to play before you buy them as gifts! Plus, the library has Spanish language-learning games, too. Check it out!

Hoopla Flex and Instant Borrows!

NMPL offers both Hoopla Instant and Hoopla Flex titles to patrons. What's the difference?

Flex Titles vs. Instant Borrows on Hoopla

Flex titles are digital items your library has purchased, often including newer releases and bestsellers. These may require placing a hold if they’re currently in use, and you can even suggest titles for the library to add.

Instant borrows come from Hoopla’s own collection and are always available with no waiting. Keep in mind that even if you’ve used all your Instant Borrows for the month, you may still have Flex Titles available. To save time, try using Advanced Search to quickly find what you need.

A recent addition to the BingePass offering, SeasonPass extends this access to select full TV seasons with a single borrow. Patrons can explore new series or revisit a favorite, all with no waiting.

SeasonPass includes a wide range of TV content from BBC Studios, PBS Distribution, and other partners, with genres such as thrilling crime and mystery series, docuseries, dramas, period pieces, comedies, and educational shows—with more on the way in the coming months.
