Spectrum Empowerment Hosts Free Tennis Clinic

Spectrum Empowerment, a group of students at Mason High School, is hosting a Free Tennis Clinic at Five Seasons Sports Club (11790 Snider Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249) on Friday, October 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. This is for kids with autism and any other developmental disability or special needs, aged 4-17, to participate in the sport of tennis. Racquets will be provided!

Tennis clinics are a fantastic way to foster connections among kids through engaging partner drills. By participating in partner drills, kids can form lasting connections and friendships. The engaging drills, games, and warm-ups are carefully designed to enhance hand-eye coordination and motor skills. In the previous tennis event, parents were delighted to see the joy on their children's faces as they played tennis and bonded with others. This clinic isn't just about physical activity; it's a platform for holistic growth and fun. With questions, please contact Spectrum Empowerment at Mason High School at spectrumempowerment@gmail.com or 513-662-6369. Click the flyer to learn more.

Sensory-Friendly Performance of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on November 15

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is excited to offer a Sensory Friendly Performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Wednesday, November 15 at 6 p.m. This special performance is uniquely adapted for individuals with autism and/or those with developmental and/or sensory differences to enjoy with their families.

Love is magic and mayhem. Two young lovers flee to the forest, hoping to find solace from the laws of the city, but feuding fairies have other ideas, throwing love triangles, potions, a troupe of bumbling thespians, and a donkey head into the mix. With a midwinter twist, A Midsummer Night’s Dream brings whimsical warmth and adventures to this classically summer tale perfect for the whole family.

The performance is modified and front-of-house staff and volunteers are trained to facilitate a safe, judgement-free environment. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold. Resources including a Social Narrative with photos outlining your visit, a Guide to Attending the Show, and a Guide to the Performance with character and show information will be available for download. Buy tickets below before October 31! Click the flyer for more details!
