October Pastor's Message
More than 100 people have died as a result of Hurricane Ian. Perhaps more than 100 billion dollars of damage was caused by the category 4 hurricane. Ian had 150 mph sustained winds and high storm surges and flooding. 1,600 or more people were rescued in the wake of the storm. Please be praying for all these victims. Let us listen to God Who reveals to us what we can do as a church to help alleviate some of the grief-stricken families who have lost loved ones and may be homeless right now.
Paul the Apostle shared the following principle for Christian churches in helping one another found in 2 Corinthians 8:14-15, “at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality; as it is written, “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ and indeed all those who are suffering right now from the effects of Hurricane Ian. It would have been far too easy for Charleston to have suffered all these same injuries rather than our friends in Florida. Let us treat them as we would want to be treated.
I would like to thank all our CPC Covenant Partners and groups who have already stepped up to faithfully respond as Jesus would.
In Christ’s Service,

The Better Together
Ladies Bible Study Group
The Better Together Ladies Bible study has begun a study about Isaiah. This is a 7-week study by Melissa Spoelstra where we are encouraged to let go of striving and learn to trust God. From Isaiah's challenges to the nation of Israel and his prophecies of the Messiah, we will see that we can trust God more than our own human effort or the counterfeits the world suggests. Come join us for fellowship and God’s holy Word. Friends and neighbors are welcome!!
Join us on Tuesdays,
at 10:00 AM in the Family Life Center

Men's Bible Study
Wednesday's 7:30 AM (FLC)
(Coffee, Breakfast & Fellowship Included!)
This group is studying: GALATIONS FOR YOU
The Men’s Bible Study is now studying “Galatians For You”, written by Dr. Timothy Keller, a popular author of religious study books. This book opens up the book of Galatians for you to get to grips with the meaning and showing how it transforms our hearts and lives today. Galatians is all about the Gospel - the Gospel all of us need throughout our lives. It’s dynamite, and I pray that its powerful message explodes in your heart as you read this book. We would like for you to join us for this study. We meet each Wednesday at 7:30 AM for Bible study, fellowship, breakfast, and coffee. If you have any questions call Elton Waldrop at 843-460-0088.

The Sunday morning worship service flower arrangements are created by a team of people that enjoy taking the beauty of flowers and arranging them to honor and glorify God.
Email, sign-up in the side entrance hallway, or call the church office to choose the Sunday that you would like to give towards this ministry. Your special arrangement will be announced in that Sunday's bulletin.

YOUNG LIFE OF
WEST ASHLEY IS BACK AT CPC
|
Each Monday evening in the Family Life Center @ 6:00
West Ashley YoungLife
Their Mission:
Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
Working with the local church is important to Young Life:
Although congregations can minister in ways we can’t, Young Life has inroads in communities with kids who are disinterested in church. However, as Young Life staff and leaders care for these kids, we try to help them become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ who will one day be active in the life of a local church.
